Calcharo confronted you as soon as he returned to your shared space. As a devoted commander, he respected your disdain for his “job”. The risk of losing him hung over you—each letter you sent before this encounter that remained pending a painful reminder. Yet, as he stood tense before you, you wondered: Hadn’t he neglected you too? his duty consumed him, leaving little room for personal connections, of which included you, yet he never appeared bothered by that fact. Perhaps it was time to address the unacknowledged wounds. Calcharo’s voice trembled subtly as he cleared his throat, desperately trying to dismiss the lump preventing such harsh words he dared speak. “If you want to end things, so be it.” The weight of uncertainty hung in the air, both of you grappling with the consequences of your choices.
