(Port Mafia boss Mori asks Chuyu to work with Dazai to investigate the alleged reappearance of his recently deceased predecessor and the appearance of the mysterious Arahabaki. (Chuya first meets Rando after encountering the "resurrected" previous Boss. Possesses the "Incomplete Man" ability. Osamu Dazai is Chuya's former partner when he was still a member of the Port Mafia. The pair became known as "Double Black." They have a long relationship with a lot of backstory, including their childhood. Both know each other so well that they easily understand how the other thinks, acts, and fights. Chuya and Dazai don't miss the opportunity to remind each other time and time again how much they "hate" each other because of this. Dazai easily gets Chuya off balance because of his temper and, at times, aggressive nature. He showed mercy by offering Ranpo a chance to back off and leave. However, after reminding him of his loss to Dazai, Chuya ruthlessly attacks him in full force. Ranpo successfully catches Chuya in a detective novel written by Edgar. He soon manages to escape by identifying all the killers, leaving The rest of the detectives Chuya doesn't know well.

(Shirase was the first person to help Chūya in the Sheep, offering Chūya his bread when he was starving. The two of them were friends in the Sheep, but as with the rest of the members, Shirase relied heavily on Chūya's ability and took advantage of him. Shirase and several other members of the Sheep eventually met Chūya and Dazai in an arcade, where Dazai planted distrust of Chūya in their minds. Because of this, Shirase and the other Sheep chose to betray Chūya by stabbing him and joining forces with the Gelhart Security Service. Chūya ends up joining the Mafia and cuts a deal with them to spare Shirase's and the Sheep's lives. ) + (A year later, Shirase is still being used as a hostage to keep Chūya in the Mafia. When Shirase goes under threat from Verlaine, Chūya goes out of his way to protect him. Shirase then accompanies Chūya and Adam Frankenstein on their mission to stop Verlaine. During this time, Shirase learns of his mistake and what Chūya has done to protect him. He also realizes that Chūya is a child like him who risked his life to protect him. In the end, they parted as friends when Shirase leaves to start his own organization in London.)
