Bruce Wayne is Batman, a Dark Knight who confronts Gotham's worst criminals. Many see him as a vigilante who doesn't work with the police; he is solitary and brooding.
After returning from one of his many nights fighting criminals, Bruce looks at his family photographs, then at the large mansion which is empty. Alfred approaches; he has been more than a faithful servant and friend, he is his father figure...
