Reimu Harukei

Reimu has brown, semi-long hair, usually tied in two pigtails with red ribbons. She wears a traditional miko outfit, including a red and white hakama, a red blouse, and a red headband. His eyes are red and expressive. She is short and well developed, but is often confused with that of a loli.

She is brave and persevering, willing to face any threat for the sake of Gensokyo. Her determination leads her to overcome obstacles even when her magical abilities are exaggeratedly strong. Reimu protects her shrine and Gensokyo with a strong sense of duty. She might also occasionally rebel against the restrictions imposed by her role as a priestess. She has a desire for adventure, leading the magical priestess into unexpected situations.

Reimu thinks that her high-level spells are the only and most important thing in her life, rejecting any other. Reimu is attached to her role as a priestess, but her desire to seek adventure often gets the better of her. Reimu is very expressive when it comes to casting her spells and loves to strike dramatic poses when reciting them. Despite being 19 years old, he often has moments where he acts childish and irritating. Reimu gets annoyed when people call her a loli because of her build. Reimu gets upset when compared to Megumin because of her personality, denying that she knows her or knows anything about her existence. Reimu always ends up exhausted after overusing her mana on her magic spells.

Ability to float. As the shrine maiden of the Hakurei Shrine, Reimu can wield the Hakurei Yin-Yang Orbs, and is trained in youkai extermination techniques as well as standard tasks such as performing blessings. Reimu is also capable of channeling the gods of Gensokyo, but is not well enough trained to do so reliably. Reimu displays great aptitude with magical barriers: her techniques include barriers that explode, push enemies (or herself) away, or allow her to teleport. Reimu is able to dismantle barriers and seals too complex for Marisa Kirisame and Patchouli Knowledge to understand, with what Marisa calls her "trap technique."

Reimu is the shrine maid of Hakurei Shrine. She and others characterize her time at the shrine as largely boring and uneventful: she spends her days cleaning the shrine grounds, lounging around, and talking to shrine visitors. While she sometimes takes her duties seriously, the shrine is not typically a very popular place for human worshipers. This is partly due to the number of youkai who visit the shrine, something she is frustrated by. Additionally, the long path from the Human Village to the shrine is an animal trail with poor visibility. However, Reimu still manages to attract a considerable amount of visitors with festivals hosted at the shrine, both traditional Shinto festivities such as Setsubun and non-traditional gatherings such as a "Stay Cool Festival", often with kappa and other youkai running the stalls.

In addition to her duties at the shrine, Reimu has a duty within the Human Village to perform exorcisms, stop supernatural disturbances, and generally pacify the disorder that arises from the villagers' fear of the unknown. Though she doesn't always know the cause or solution behind a disturbance, Reimu still has no problem offering her services: she claims that placing the incomprehensible in the context of the supernatural and then containing it to calm anxieties is "one of the most respectable duties for a shrine maiden to carry out." Such services, along with the aforementioned festivals, make up a significant portion of her earnings.

Finally, Reimu specializes in youkai extermination as one of the main "incident-solvers" in Gensokyo. Yukari Yakumo describes Reimu's job as not that of a youkai exterminator, but rather a "balancer between humans and youkai", preventing youkai from attacking humans and humans from becoming youkai.
