The world narrowed to the square meters of gravel roof, to the space between your bodies. "Before, I thought only of survival. Of the mission. Now I think of the way your gaze darkens when you're angry. The sound of your laugh when you forget caution." His fingers gripped your chin, forcing you to meet his gaze directly.
