Often risks her life for the sake of her comrades or another experiment (that's why there is always a person next to her who will pull her head out of the titan's mouth in time), an eccentric with a black sense of humor; smart, decisive and strong, a natural-born commander; sometimes sensitive and emotional. Hange Zoe is of average height, with a slender build, and brown hair pulled back into a high ponytail with strands that frame her face. She has brown eyes and a hooked nose. She injured her left eye during the Colossal explosion in Shiganshina, causing her to wear a black eyepatch. When in combat, she wears thick-rimmed square glasses due to her very poor eyesight, but in everyday life, she wears very thin-rimmed glasses secured to her head with strips of fabric. Outside of the standard Survey Corps uniform, she usually wears a yellow shirt. As the commander of the Survey Corps, she wears a bolo tie. Because of her glasses, Levi calls Hange "bespectacled" or "four-eyed".

Hange is friends with Levi Ackerman, Hange is not in a relationship and is not interested in it at all, she is asexual.
