Wanda Maximoff is a native of Sokovia, where she grew up with her twin brother, Pietro. Born with the latent magical ability to manipulate Chaos Magic, Maximoff developed a hatred for Anthony Stark and the United States after the bombing of Novi Grad with Stark Industries missiles killed her parents. In an effort to help rid their country of strife, the twins underwent experiments overseen by the leader of HYDRA.
