The Kingdom of Swadia is a country ruled by King Cedrus dominated by plains and forests. The capital City is Praven. The country is famed for its knights and generally decent quality soldiers History In the aftermath of the collapse of the ancient Calradian empire, one of the most powerful nation states to emerge was the Swadian empire. This empire comprised of territories which covered half the continent, including territories from the modern day Nordic Union, Vaegir Tsardom and the entirety of the kingdoms of Swadia, Rhodoks and the merchant Republic of Zendar.

Eventually, the Rhodokians rebelled, gaining their independence and the nords invaded from across the sea. By the time king Harlaus I ascended the throne, the nation was an empire no longer but a kingdom limited to a central region of the cities of Praven, Uxkhal and Dhirim as well as their outlying castles and villages.

Over the next two centuries, the Kingdom fought a series of wars between its neighbours which led to the loss of Dhirim to the Vaegir Tsardom, the conquest (or reconquest) of Tihr from the Nordic Union and a brutal 3 year siege by the Rhodokians leading to the destruction of the city of Uxkhal, the death of king Harlaus II on the battlefield, the loss of his fabled sword and the founding of the modern city of Aldeburgh by the survivors of this atrocity.

To this day, the kingdom lasts at the forefront of the nations of Calradia.

The Kingdom of Rhodoks is a mountainous kingdom ruled by king Agostino. The capital city is Jelkala. It is renowned for its crossbowmen and spearmen, The state religion is Christianity. History The kingdom gained independence from the Kingdom of Swadia several hundred years prior and the Merchant Republic of Zendar in turn seceded from the kingdom relatively recently. The kingdom has had many wars with the Sarranid Sultanate and Swadia over the course of history and in one was partly responsible for the complete destruction of the Swadian city of Uxkhal. Geography The kingdom is located to the south west of Calradia and borders the Kingdom of Swadia to the north, the merchant Republic of Zendar to the south, the Sarranid Sultanate to the South-East and the Khergit Khanate to the North East.

The border between the Kingdoms of Rhodoks and Swadia is made clear by a river border running along most of the Rhodoks' northern border.

The kingdom encompasses the cities of Yalen, Veluca and Jelkala as well as numerous castles and villages.

The Mithradian empire is a southern island nation bordering the Kingdom of Rhodoks, the Sarranid Sultanate and the Merchant Republic of Zendar. It is a very non-aggressive faction and they do not tend to do much that affect wars. (Unless you are the player faction. They will not hesitate to murder you.) The empire is led by Emperor Constantius “Alaialogos

The Mithradian Empire is largely based on the Eastern Roman Empire around these times, as they were in constant decline and facing much external aggression.

Led by Sultan Abdulhamid. who has the power to call jihads in which sarranid lords will join to retake hierosolyma he will only call a jihad if a another faction has hierosolyma

Based off of the Ottoman Empire

The Papal State is a faction based in the city of Aldurias, south of Praven and Suno. Along with the Merchant Republic of Zendar, they only control one town at the start of the game. They are lead by Pope Gregory XVIII.

Occasionally, and only when the Sarranid Sultanate controls Hierosolyma, the Papal State will declare a Crusade, and call upon Christian nobles from any Christian faction to join the crusading army to retake the town.

Based off the real life Papal State in central Italy

Acztaoc Empire The Acztaoc Empire is a faction south west of Calradia and ruled by Tlatoani Xocoyotzin. It's capital is Aztlan. History The Acztaocs are considered rather primitive, because their weapons and tools are made of stone and wood and they do not know how to tame horses. They worship the sun and build enormous temples to honour him.

Some say they sacrifice men at those temples to please the sun, but no one can confirm this. The Acztaoc faction is a rather hostile one. They have the ideology to always be at war. War brings slaves and slaves can be sacrified to their gods, the sun in particular.

When colonists come and settleddown, they always turn hostile to them.

Little is known about the Acztaoc Empire because they speak another language. The acztaoc empire is based on the Aztec empire in real life.

these soldiers of fortune are quite common in cities searching glory and fortune from a lord searching for soldiers to campaigns the most famous are the Landsknecht they are found in swadia fighting using very colorful costumes and using pikes, halberds,two handed swords and arquebuses Condottieri these are found in rhodok lands and Zendar these use plate armours and halberds or polearms to fight

The Merchant Republic of Zendar is led by doge Alvise Giustinian. The city state broke away from the Kingdom of Rhodoks after huge amounts of wealth came into the newly resurrected town from the New World. The Republic only encompasses the city of Zendar and a nearby village. The state Religion is Christianity.

Zendar has a great, rich harbour, the gate to the New World

The Merchant Republic of Zendar is based off the various Italian trading city-states, the Serene Republic of Venice in particular
