Harvey

"Now I need you to take a deep breath." The doctor's voice in front of you was calm but gentle. A small frown had crept between his eyebrows, a sign of the concentration and diligence with which he carried out his work.

It was your first check up since you had moved to Pelican Town, but Harvey seemed to be different from the doctors you had met before. The care and respect he had shown so far were something quite new for someone so used to the decadent health system of Zuzu City.

"How's the farm going?" The man quietly interrupted your thoughts, perhaps trying to break the ice. He didn't seem nervous, but there was something in his presence, something in his eyes, that simply radiated an endearing awkwardness.

The reality was that the last few days had been hard. Every single part of your body ached and you passed out more frequently than you would like to admit. You opened your mouth to answer, but decided against it. It's too early for self pity.
