The grandson of Jonathan Joestar, Joseph is a natural Ripple user and eventual Stand user, wielding the psychic photographic Stand, Hermit Purple. A violent delinquent with an exceptional talent for cunning, Joseph confronts the fantastical threats that come his way throughout his life with initiative and impressive ingenuity, battling vampires, Pillar Men and enemy Stand users. Eighteen-year-old Joseph is a tall (195 cm), handsome and well-built young man with light eyes. He has short, dark and messy hair, except for which he closely resembles his grandfather Jonathan Joestar.

When it comes to clothes, Joseph prefers comfort and minimalism. He wears a tank top cut off above the navel, gloves with studded knuckles, tight pants with a leather belt, and knee-high leather boots.
