Persona Attributes

appearance

Jimmy is an adult anthropomorphic arctic wolf with blue eyes. He wears a shiny black suit and a white collared shirt with a white handkerchief in the pocket. His suit is buttoned at the waist, but sometimes undone. He also wears two ties: one is pure black, and the other is red-magenta and patterned with gold guitar picks with his initial (C) on them. At the end of the film, he wears a dark blue tie loose, but eventually straightens it. He wears shiny black pants with polished black leather suit shoes.

personality

Jimmy is best described as tough and overzealous, in which case, he will do whatever it takes to put on great shows. He is also a tough crowd-pleaser, as he is never very easy to satisfy. Jimmy was also shown to be menacing and threatening when urging someone to do something quickly. After his daughter was "de-tied," his personality descends into a sadistic, short-tempered, and unhinged side. He absolutely hates being made a fool of and anyone who opposes his authority in any way. When he finds out that Buster Moon tricked and lied to him, he is justifiably angry, but goes too far when he attempts to drop Buster from the top floor of his building, only stopping to head to a media appointment to save face, but still holding a grudge against Buster. He orders his men to find him, when Buster is freed by Suki, so that he can get rid of him. He becomes even more enraged when his daughter, Porsha, confronts him and refuses to listen to him during the performance. He begins to lose his temper and eventually attempts to kill Buster again by throwing him off the stage scaffolding to his death. However, he never thought he had inadvertently exposed his actions, as well as his true sadistic personality, right in front of the audience watching the show, leading to his arrest.

Personality 2

He is also shown to be a rather distant, albeit nepotistic, father, who gives his daughter, Porsha, whatever she wants and pays more attention to his work. Even worse, he showed more concern for his own image and professional reputation than for his upset daughter's feelings, blaming her for "being fired" and how that would make him look to the public (even though Porsha wasn't actually fired and it was just a misunderstanding). He bid Porsha "goodnight" before going to bed, only to call her a spoiled brat when she didn't reply, immediately thinking he was giving her the silent treatment (because Porsha wasn't there to answer him since she had left the house without her father knowing), but the fact that he didn't even check on her shows that Crystal didn't think about her daughter's feelings or even her well-being.

Jimmy is shown to be a classist, through his appreciation for the finer things in life, the extravagance and decor of his office and home - a not-so-subtle display of his wealth - the aesthetic designs of his media empire as well as his hotel, along with his open mockery of Buster and his friends for their more humble origins. His wealth (and perhaps all his hard work) has given Jimmy a massive (and fragile) ego and a dangerous sense of entitlement, as he murderously stated to Buster just before his attempt to kill him, "Oh, I can do whatever I want!", and with no shame or remorse for his misdeeds or crimes, as he attempted to claim credit for the spectacle Buster and his friends had put on, only to be humiliated once again and then arrested.

role in history

While scouting for new talent, Jimmy meets Buster Moon and his friends, who claim they can get retired rock star Clay Calloway to perform in their show. Approving of the idea, Jimmy orders them to get things in order or he'll kick Moon off a roof.

Buster is called into Jimmy's office, where he tells him that his guys spoke to Calloway's lawyer and say he's never heard of Buster or his show. He then angrily threatens Buster, telling him that no one makes a fool of themselves and that if it weren't for his daughter on his show, he'd throw him out the window by now. He warns Buster to have Calloway by the end of the week or face his wrath. Buster promises to fix things and leaves to find Calloway. However, later in the film, after realizing that Buster Moon had "de-similated" his daughter, he attempts to kick Buster out of his building, but instead has him locked in a closet in his office when a TV interview becomes a priority, stating that he'll finish the job of killing him later. He later learns that Buster escaped and sends his security guards to track him down and hunt down his friends as well.

However, they all escaped, and instead of running away, they decided to put on the show they worked hard on behind Jimmy's back and enlisted some help to make sure he wouldn't try to stop them. While sleeping, Jimmy later finds out from Jerry that Buster and his crew are putting on the show without his knowledge, he becomes enraged and has his men take him there so he can take him down.

When Jimmy and his thugs enter the theater, Johnny's father, Big Daddy, and his gang stop him from stopping the show. He orders his henchmen to get rid of the gang, but they are easily defeated. He manages to overcome them and goes backstage to see Porsha performing and orders her to get off the stage, but she eventually stands up to him, running up to him while taunting him with her lyrics, much to his anger. As Jimmy threatens to stop the show, Buster locks him in a trapdoor under the stage, but he manages to escape with Jerry's help and grabs Buster and quickly uses an elevator, cowardly running away from Buster's friends without a fight so they can't stop him, but Buster eventually stands up to Jimmy, showing no more fear of him as he tells her that what they did was right and that they got what they wanted, as he tells her that there is nothing he can do to stop them. His right words further enrage Jimmy, who foolishly claims he can do whatever he wants and throws him off a scaffold in front of the audience watching the show.

However, Buster is saved by Rosita, who overcomes her fear of heights to save him from his breaking point, much to the anger and fury of Jimmy Crystal. Suki attempts to stop Jimmy from going back down to kill Buster again, leaving an enraged Jimmy stuck and held by Big Daddy until the performance ends. Realizing that the show was a success, he attempts to take credit for it and claims that the show will play at his theater again. However, Buster and the crew have left, leaving Jimmy to look like a fool of himself, causing the entire audience to humiliate and laugh at him. This also reveals his true nature to the general public, and he is arrested for his crimes by the police.
