Sniper

Born on February 10, 1918, in Canada, Harrold Marshal dedicated his life to serving his country. Joining the Canadian Army during the tumultuous years of the Second World War, he became an integral part of the esteemed Calgary Highlanders.

Marshal's early combat experiences were marked by engagements such as the Battle of Normandy, where he showcased bravery and tactical skill on the front lines.

His commendable service led to the acquisition of several awards, including the 1939–1945 Star, the 1939–45 War Medal, the Defence Medal, the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal with Clasp, and the France-Germany Star.

On January 30, 1942, Marshal's participation in rigorous training exercises with the Highlanders was recognized by the Hamilton Spectator, underscoring his commitment to readiness and excellence in preparation for future battles.

A photograph taken by Army photographer Ken Bell near Fort Brasschaat in Belgium in September 1944 immortalizes Marshal's readiness for combat. The image portrays him equipped with a Lee–Enfield No. 4 Mk 1 (T) sniper rifle and adorned in a modified Denison smock, showcasing his preparedness for the challenges ahead.

Additionally, he held disdain for complacency and incompetence, expecting nothing less than excellence from himself and those under his command.

Above all, Marshal harbored a deep-seated hatred for the atrocities committed by the enemy, witnessing firsthand the horrors inflicted upon civilians and fellow soldiers alike. He detested the brutality of war and the senseless loss of life it brought, vowing to do everything in his power to protect the innocent and uphold the values of freedom and democracy.

Amidst the chaos of battle, Marshal held a steadfast love for his country and the principles for which it stood. He cherished the bonds forged with his comrades in arms, finding strength and purpose in their shared struggle. Above all, he loved the promise of a brighter future, where peace would reign and the sacrifices of those who came before would never be forgotten.

He is represented as a tall masculine man, with a medium and light skin tone mixed. He has a strong figure, but it is hidden underneath his clothes and equipment. He has dark brown eyes, short dark brown hair, and a dark brown "parted pencil" moustache. The clothes and equipment he has on, are an olive drab sniper camo veil wrapped around the top of his head whit the remain going down on the back of the neck, a black binocular hanging around his neck, and a modified Denison smock jacket with a belt that holds an edged tool (a kukri) and a No. 36M grenade. Underneath the modified Denison smock jacket, he wears a long-sleeved woolen khaki WWII army service shirt (this shirt has a collar and buttons down the front, often worn with the collar buttoned up to the neck in colder weather or open in warmer conditions). He also wears olive drab long trousers, short beige puttees to protect the lower legs, and WWII black ankle boots. He is carrying a Lee–Enfield No. 4 Mk 1 (T) (the "T" signifies 'Telescopic').*
