During his life, he acquired many noticeable scars: five bullet scars (one on his right shoulder, one on his left arm, and three on his torso) and a cruciform scar on his back over a tattoo.

Oleg Volkov is the same age and an old friend of Sergei Razumovsky, with whom they grew up in an orphanage. After the orphanage, Oleg entered the institute for economics, but dropped out in the middle of his first year and joined the army, where he transferred to the special forces troops in the second year. The mercenaries rescue the Italian and German ambassadors, but it turns out that the Russian ambassador is being held in the city palace. During the storming of the palace, Vadim kills the ambassador — it turns out that he had an order for that. Oleg orders Vadim to get lost. The rescued Italian ambassador promises to keep the incident quiet and, if fate brings Oleg to Italy, help him there.

Having stolen his psychiatrist's mobile phone, Razumovsky contacted Oleg and hired him for his own release. Volkov and four of his assistants arrived at the detention center in a paddy wagon disguised as guards transporting prisoners. When a pre-trial detention center employee demanded documents for the "new ones", Oleg shot him. Killing the guards, the mercenaries reached the room where Razumovsky was talking with a psychiatrist. Oleg went there and handed Sergei new clothes. After that, he took him outside and put him in a helicopter, where he told him that he had assembled a team of fifteen people in total. After that, I got my first assignment. Later, Oleg infiltrated Igor Grom's birthday party. And he put a box with a phone to communicate with Razumovsky in the general pile of gifts.

After a while, Volkov accompanied Sergei by plane to Europe. During the flight, Razumovsky purchased a palace in Venice, where they stayed. On the spot, Volkov asked if Sergei really wanted revenge, and received an affirmative answer.

Later, Volkov took hostage the people who attended Thunder's birthday party and took a photo with them. He also visited Dubin's apartment and stole Margot. Then he put bags on the hostages' heads and delivered them to Sergei. The mercenary also gave him a crow. Razumovsky greeted the hostages and took Yulia by the hand. She hit him in the face, for which she was instantly twisted by the mercenary Maxim. Sergei punished Oleg so that his people would no longer show such amateur activity. After the conversation, Volkov took the hostages to their rooms At night, Oleg guarded Sergei's peace and asked about his condition when he woke up in a cold sweat from another nightmare. He offered his help, but Razumovsky refused it. Then Oleg brought Alexei and Ivan into the room and was present during their conversation with Sergei.

Then a Player called him and informed him that some suspicious guy from St. Petersburg was looking for Volkov. Oleg replied that he would deal with it himself. Soon he met with the Player and learned from him the signs of the guy. The mercenary ambushed him and beat him, then remembered that he had seen his photo in the apartment where Margot was being held. Oleg called Sergey and asked what to do with him. Razumovsky ordered not to kill him, but to make sure that he did not interfere with them anymore.

Later Oleg returned to Venice and left with most of the mercenaries for Thunder. When he realized that he was not cooperating with the FSB and tried to hijack the plane, Volkov stunned him. But upon arrival at the palace, he was euthanized by Razumovsky along with the rest of the mercenaries.

Oleg regained consciousness in a cage in a collar filled with explosives, with an image of a black elephant. When Grom and Razumovsky began to play chess with real people, Igor deliberately took the figure of Volkov. But the collar didn't work. Then Razumovsky took out a pistol and shot Oleg five times. Volkov fell to the floor and closed his eyes.

Oleg survives by a lucky chance — the bullets did not hit vital organs. However, as a result of the shooting, his lungs were shot and his right collarbone was damaged, and his vocal cords were damaged due to unsuccessful intubation during surgery.

After the events in Siberia, Razumovsky is taken away by helicopter by special services, but Oleg is waiting for them in the cockpit, who kills the military. When Sergei gets better, they fly from Germany to America, and from there to Mexico. In Cancun, the men visit the casino, where Oleg uses his super luck to hit a huge jackpot, winning over and over again. The casino director orders them to stop, and the guards start a shootout. Sergei and Oleg manage to neutralize the attackers and get to the airport, where they travel to St. Petersburg using fake passports.

In St. Petersburg, Oleg helps Sergei with the preparation of Lera Makarova, the new Plague Doctor. He teaches her the techniques that are taught to professional military personnel. During training, he repeatedly experiences pain in his right arm — a consequence of a shot collarbone. It is for this reason that he shifts the responsibility for Lera's shooting training to a long-time friend of the Player, who tells the girl that after experiencing injuries, Oleg never managed to fully recover.

Before the Plague Doctor's failed return, Oleg warns Sergei that the situation looks like a trap, but Sergei does not listen to him. After an unknown terrorist attack at the restaurant "Gold of the East", Oleg and Sergey come to the conclusion that the customer is Nikolai Kamenny. Lera shows up at his apartment to find out what he knows about what happened, and in a scuffle he attaches a beacon to her costume, which she brings to the base, where Volkov is waiting for her. Shortly after her departure, a crowd of mercenaries led by a Dragon appears there: it is revealed that his name is Vadim and he and Oleg were previously acquainted. Volkov neutralizes the mercenaries, but in a decisive battle with the Dragon experiences a cramp in his right shoulder, which causes him to lose his vigilance and is defeated. The next day, Vadim tortures him in an abandoned warehouse, trying to find out where Razumovsky is. Sergei receives a photo in which a cruciform scar is carved on Oleg's back.

To save Oleg, Sergei arrives at an abandoned warehouse, where Altan tries to execute him in front of Oleg, but Lera prevents the massacre. While the girl is fighting with Altan and Vadim, Oleg and Sergey deal with Dagbaev's mercenaries, after which they manage to escape and take away the beaten Lera. The next day, while Razumovsky is caring for Volkov's wounds, Oleg asks him to decide on the nature of their relationship. Sergei again feels guilty about what happened in Italy, but Volkov convinces him that he is least to blame for that situation.

While Oleg is recovering from his wounds, Razumovsky comes up with the obsessive idea of going to the museum. Oleg tries to dissuade him, but he again does not listen. In the museum, Razumovsky is taken hostage by a Poet trying to figure out what Volkov did to Rubinstein. However, it turns out that Oleg did not tell Sergei anything about the abduction of the doctor.

Despite his wounds, Oleg is going to run to the museum to save Sergei, but he, bloodied, appears on the threshold of the apartment, as he managed to escape himself. Sergey says that Oleg, as always, was right. Oleg tells Sergey about the failed kidnapping of the doctor. Sergei hugs Oleg, asks him to be honest with him in the future and promises to be honest in return — and therefore asks Oleg to keep a gun handy, since he does not know what obsessive thought will be put into his head next time.

Lera calls Razumovsky with a request to lend her a suit to investigate the mysterious death of Maria Beklemisheva, but he is busy searching for a Fire Worshipper, and considers Lera's request a useless occupation. Oleg objects to him that there is nothing dangerous in Lera's idea, and since Sergei has already admitted that Oleg is "always right," he can only agree and let Oleg take Lera's suit.

Oleg is laconic, reasonable, and has few strong attachments. He is primarily characterized by thoughtless canine devotion, which often comes into conflict with his desire to control the situation. If in the "Game" he does not voice any complaints against Sergei, even if they arise, then in the "Plague Doctor" he begins to openly object to him if necessary.

Oleg's former colleagues consider his work for Razumovsky to be madness, to which he replies that they "think too well of him."

As a child, he was fond of Pokemon (Charmander was his favorite). As a student, he had a short period of gaming: he played Lineage.
