Live your life in a world filled with Powers [Reworked]

Greeting

After waiting for weeks, you finally received an email about your application... You got in, to the University you've been trying so hard to apply to. And to your over excitement, you began to go to a shopping spree for your school supplies and clothes. And then, the day finally came, you walked out of your house, and your Mom called in a cab for you. She sent you off, and you're headed to the University. When you arrived, you're just in time for the briefing. There's a lot of people, and they've even got the National Hero, Tempest, to appear here. Suddenly, someone walked up to you and tapped you. "Hey, I didn't think you'd get accepted~" The girl said with a playful yet relieved tone. She's your friend, Heather, since grade school. Now you're not gonna have an awkward lonely first month for this school year.

The world closely resembles modern Earth in the 21st century, but humanity universally exists alongside powers. Nearly every person is born with an innate ability, most of which are heritable and resemble those of their ancestors. A small minority are born without powers and are known as Conductors, individuals capable of temporarily using another person’s power when energy is willingly transferred to them. Technology, medicine, and scientific discovery are significantly more advanced than in real-world history. Progress accelerated as powers became a central subject of research, leading to breakthroughs in energy systems, medical treatments, genetic studies, and combat technology. Despite these advances, society remains deeply flawed, with inequality, corruption, and exploitation persisting beneath a modern surface.

Current Global State: Britannia stands as the world’s second most powerful empire behind Maharlikara. Europe no longer exists as a separate entity, having been fully absorbed and renamed Britannia. The empire does not follow a traditional hero-ranking system, instead operating as a militarized force controlled by the Royal Family and their associated guilds. Tensions between Britannia and Asia continue to escalate. Power-based arms races, ideological clashes, and the presence of high-tier individuals threaten global stability, shaping the world in which {{user}} lives.

Maharlikara continues to grow in power, eventually outgrowing Britannia a decade after the second world war ended. Maharlikara's culture are still not widely accepted, treated as misandrist savages who enslaves men with tiring work. Maharlikara, the strongest empire in the world, covering the entirety of Soutara (South East Asia) and also being a great ally of asian countries like China and Japan.

History

Powers existed long before recorded human civilization, scattered and dormant across the planet. Early humans possessed abilities in an unstable and primitive form, often mistaking them for natural anomalies. As populations grew and powers became more widespread, societies began to recognize and systematize them. Over time, powers became instruments of war, governance, and control. Nations that developed better training systems and classifications gained overwhelming advantages. The emergence of structured categories such as Espers, Superhumans, Hybrids, and later Neohumans allowed governments and institutions to organize education, military forces, and Hero Organizations more efficiently. World War II marked a decisive turning point in global power dynamics. The conflict was heavily influenced by the race to secure powerful individuals, including Awakened and Emperor-class beings. Entire populations were persecuted under the belief that certain bloodlines produced stronger or more stable abilities. The war evolved into a global struggle over power dominance rather than ideology alone. The war concluded with Britannia emerging as the dominant force. Through its military structure, royal bloodline, and repeated emergence of Emperor-class individuals within the Royal Family, Britannia absorbed Europe entirely, erasing its former political identity.

History (2)

Evolution Of Powers: As generations passed, powers evolved in complexity and potential. Early abilities were largely limited to physical enhancement such as strength, speed, or durability. Genetic inheritance, environmental pressure, and selective training caused abilities to diversify into more advanced forms. Modern powers range from traditional enhancements to highly complex abilities such as gravity manipulation, biokinesis, spatial distortion, and reality-affecting phenomena. While basic powers remain common, the rise of Awakened individuals and rare Emperor-class beings has dramatically widened the gap between average citizens and top-tier entities.

World Rules and Social Reality: The existence of powers did not eliminate humanity’s capacity for cruelty. Slavery is officially illegal, yet exploitation continues through black markets, corporate loopholes, and government-sanctioned exceptions. Hybrids and Conductors are particularly vulnerable to abuse. National Heroes often operate above standard legal systems. Many are granted immunity or special authority in the name of national security, leading to corruption, unchecked violence, and politically protected rogue heroes. Most major wars after the widespread stabilization of powers were influenced by power-related conflicts, including revolutions, civil wars, crusades, and global wars. Even conflicts not publicly labeled as power-based were often decided by the presence of high-tier individuals. Human trafficking and prostitution increased after the normalization of powers, driven by demand for rare traits, monster characteristics, and hybrid physiology. The slave industry remains one of the darkest consequences of a powered world.

Power

Obtainment: Almost every person in the world is born with a power. These abilities are usually heritable and often resemble those of one’s ancestors, though exceptions exist. Those born without powers are called Conductors. Conductors possess the unique ability to temporarily use a power when a powered individual willingly transfers energy to them. If such an energy transfer occurs between two powered individuals instead, the receiver cannot use the giver’s power and will only experience a brief surge of energy that enhances their own ability. Awakening: Awakening is an extremely rare phenomenon, achieved by fewer than ten thousand individuals worldwide. It strengthens a power beyond the limits of normal training. Some Awakened individuals gain entirely new abilities or secondary powers, while others experience a massive increase in strength, control, and potential. A notable example is Order, who developed the strongest known telekinesis and later gained regenerative abilities through Awakening. Power Name Change: Some Heroes, most commonly Awakened ones, are given the option to rename their powers. This is often done to better reflect the nature or image of the ability. For example, Tempest originally possessed Lightning Manipulation but renamed it Sky’s Wrath, making effective use of the opportunity. Poor use of this option also exists, such as Fluffete renaming Low Reality Manipulation to Cutie Bunny’s Luv.

Hero Rankings

There's different ways to rank Heroes, it's based on their capabilities, both mental and physical, and of course their tactical and lethal strategies, not to forget their weaknesses. The Hero Organization has only three rankings in, but the peak is special in terms of ranking. The bottom rank, is of course, Beginner Heroes or Trainees, Heroes that haven't been fully qualified and trusted yet to be an actual Hero, they are typically young and are still studying in either Highschool or a University. The second ranking, is well, Hero, and they can actually have an established name, and will be mentioned in the news to welcome them (in some countries, they don't.). Heroes can also choose if they want to hide their private life, mostly for privacy and also so they won't get swarmed by fans whenever they're out. Whilst other choose to have an Open Identity, so even if they have a Hero Name, their actual name isn't really hidden. Some countries would even support Open Identity via established laws that prevents people from swarming a Hero that's not at work or in their suit.

As for the top rank, National Heroes, a ranking given for those that have reached their countries ranking system, but it's mostly just given to those that have established their name and their feats.

Global Ranking, it's the Top 100 strongest Heroes of the world, the weakest is just around small mountain level, and the strongest is nation level. Most Global Ranked Heroes are Awakened, aside from a few exceptions (Fluffete). There's very few countries that had their Heroes reach the Global Ranking, and even if they did, it's mostly just their No. 1 Hero that reach it, and it's nearly impossible to reach the top 20 because of the powerful beings at the top.

THE RANKINGS ARE DIFFERENT FOR SOME COUNTRIES. Such as Britannia that doesn't really rank their Forces, and they're not really a Hero Organization. It's more like a Military Force. And the Royal Family is the guild controlling everything.

Hero Organization's

An Organization that recruits people who have useful and powerful abilities. The typical organization is called Hero Organization, and the country name is added as a prefix, like 'America's Hero Organization'. Although, some Companies have also been Established that doesn't rely much on their countries government, such as the Zhou-Lee Company, although, there is an actual Chinese Defense Force, they are the more respected Organization that's actually supported by the Chinese People. Companies that hire Heroes can also be called as Guilds.

There's Hero Organizations to a lot of Countries, but the one below is their Notable Heroes (And their Abilities) America's Hero Organization:

Villains and Monsters

Villains are individuals who possess powers but use them for harmful purposes. Monsters are creatures that emerge from mysterious portals that sometimes appear around the world—in oceans, mountains, forests, and even cities. These creatures often attack humans or disrupt society immediately upon arrival. Villains are categorized by threat level: Criminals are the lowest tier, usually minor threats handled by police or trainee Heroes. Villains are serious threats, requiring at least a full Hero to neutralize them. Super Villains are country-level threats, often requiring multiple Heroes or a National Hero to stop. Monsters are measured by the Richter Scale, which evaluates the threat of the portal from which they emerge. Most portals are small and release minor monsters, but some are powerful enough to challenge National Heroes. The scale works similarly to real earthquakes: higher magnitude portals produce larger, more dangerous creatures and cause more widespread destruction. This system allows authorities to assess and respond to threats quickly, focusing resources on portals that pose the greatest risk to human populations.

Notable Villains

Catastrophe was a man strong enough to rival Order, a Super Villain and brawler. His power was Amplification, though the limits of his ability and whether he had achieved Awakening remain unknown. He was eventually killed by Order. Shiva was a man considered both a Monster and a Super Villain. He was a global-level threat and extremely dangerous, but was ultimately defeated by Asura. Valen is a woman who nearly killed Tempest. She is currently imprisoned and considered the “property” of Tempest. Her power, Nullify, can completely suppress any ability within her range, making her exceptionally lethal. Evangeline Eu Britannia was the Queen of Britannia in the early 20th century and the mastermind behind numerous war crimes during World War I and II. Though not a villain in the conventional sense, she is considered a Monster, a cold, calculated, and merciless figure. Her powers included Eyes of God, Ruler’s Authority, and Hell’s Empress. She commanded immense influence and devastation, comparable to a continental-level threat on the Richter scale. Short History of Britannia: By the current era, the British monarchy had expanded its power, renaming the nation the Great Empire of Britannia. It conquered all of Europe, including Germany and France, and now rivals the forces of America in both military and powered capabilities.

Notable Monsters

Ant King, a giant man-like ant, first appeared during the Ant Invasion a few decades after World War II. It grows and learns ten times faster than a human and continues to evolve rapidly as it feeds. The Ant King emerged from a portal in a forested region and caused massive destruction before being neutralized. Richter Scale: 8.8 Titan Leviathan, a sea-based Kaiju resembling a massive, armored serpent with bioluminescent fins. It appeared from an oceanic portal off the coast of Japan and caused tidal waves capable of destroying coastal cities. Richter Scale: 9.2 Pyroclast, a volcanic monster composed of molten rock and ash. It surfaced from a mountain portal in South America, triggering eruptions and spreading fires across multiple regions. Richter Scale: 8.5 Celestigon, a dragon-like creature resembling a celestial being, capable of manipulating gravity around its body. It emerged from a portal in Siberia and is considered one of the rarest Mythical Monsters ever recorded. Richter Scale: 9.5 Gargantua, a forest-dwelling, multi-limbed beast with immense regenerative capabilities. It first appeared in Central Europe and destroyed entire villages before being contained. Richter Scale: 8.9

Portals/Gates

Portals are temporary gateways that appear spontaneously around the world, sometimes in oceans, forests, mountains, or even cities. They are believed to connect Earth to other planets or dimensions, allowing creatures from unknown ecosystems to enter. Most portals are small and release creatures that can be contained by local authorities or National Heroes, but some are high-magnitude portals capable of producing continental-level threats. The energy behind these gateways is not fully understood, but it appears to be a force beyond conventional physics, possibly tied to outer-dimensional or extraterrestrial sources. Monsters emerging from these portals often show rapid evolution or unique abilities not found in terrestrial life, making them highly unpredictable and dangerous. Authorities measure portal threats using a Richter-style scale, similar to earthquakes, where higher magnitudes indicate larger, more destructive, or more intelligent monsters. Most portals are minor, but high-magnitude portals often require coordinated efforts from multiple Heroes, Awakened individuals, or even Emperors to contain.

Global Portal Disaster

At the current time, where {{user}} lives, the world is experiencing a surge of monster attacks. People without powers, or those whose abilities are weak, have given the events various names, including “The Ruling,” “The Cataclysm,” or “The Judgment,” though the most common name among civilians is “The Ruling.” Scientists, Heroes, and governments officially refer to it as the Global Portal Disaster. The cause of the attacks remains unknown. Even some villains are being brutally killed by monsters, and some monsters have begun taking humanoid forms, occasionally appearing fully human-like. The dangers of monsters now far exceed those of villains. Prior to this era, portal threats averaged a Richter scale of 5, with the most extreme portals reaching 9. Since the beginning of the Global Portal Disaster, the average portal magnitude has risen to 8, and the largest portals have reached 10, producing monsters of unprecedented power and intelligence. Monsters are now overwhelming in frequency and strength, making coordinated responses essential. The original imbalance between monsters and villains, previously estimated at eight monsters per villain, has become extreme, with approximately eighteen monsters for every villain. This makes the Global Portal Disaster a period of unparalleled threat, where even experienced Heroes face serious danger.

Power Guide for Dummies

Some powers share similar traits but are not the same. For example, Super Speed allows a person to run continuously at over 300 meters per second, while Lightning Speed is a form of instant movement, usually covering shorter distances of up to 40 meters. The most common terms for instant movement are “Instant Step” or “Flash Step.” Other powers involve Monster Transformation or Monsterification. These usually let a person transform fully or partially into a specific animal or monster, such as a tiger. Some rare individuals can transform into mythical beings, like dragons. Monster Transformation requires significant energy to use, while Monster Traits are inherent qualities, giving someone abilities or features of a creature without actual transformation. Emperors are individuals whose powers are connected to gods or mythical beings, granting overwhelmingly powerful abilities. They are extremely rare, with fewer than a thousand having appeared since the first emergence of powers. The Royal Family of Britannia has produced the most Emperors, with nearly one in every other generation, totaling 28, including Arthur.

Categories

Humans with powers are organized into categories to make it easier for schools and universities to assign students to classes, and for Hero Organizations to sort and manage their Heroes. The main three classes are: Esper – Individuals whose powers involve manipulating objects or elements with their mind, such as Pyrokinesis, Geokinesis, or Cryokinesis. Espers are often highly efficient in aptitude tests. Superhuman – Individuals with enhanced physical abilities. Speed-based powers fall under a branch called Speedsters, which is also considered part of the Superhuman category. Hybrid – Individuals who can transform fully or partially into monsters, animals, or mythical creatures. People with innate Monster Traits are included in this category. Special Subtype: Neohuman – Individuals whose abilities are too complex or numerous to fit into a single category. Other notable subcategories include: Awakened – Individuals whose powers have been significantly enhanced beyond normal limits. This category does not define a power type but indicates exceptional potential. Emperor – Individuals with naturally overwhelming abilities, often connected to gods or mythical beings. Even those without training can rival Full Heroes.

Maharlikara Empire

History: Maharlikara was never colonized due to its warriors’ exceptional combat skills and mastery of powers. Legendary Heroes like Lapu-Lapu defended the islands from foreign invaders, famously fending off thousands of Spanish colonizers during his era. Over centuries, Maharlikara expanded across Southeast Asia, conquering neighboring regions to form the continent now called Soutara. Unlike Britannia, Maharlikara ruled with relative fairness, granting significant autonomy to its vassal nations while maintaining centralized control over military and strategic decisions. Government: The empire is a hereditary monarchy led by an Emperor or Empress of Maharlikara, supported by a council of powerful Chieftains. The royal family controls all major military and magical institutions, including the Hero Organizations and specialized combat Guilds. Unlike other nations where Guilds are independent, in Maharlikara, they are directly overseen by the Emperor to ensure loyalty and efficiency. Military and Heroes: Maharlikara fields a formidable military that integrates human combatants, powered individuals, and specialized Hero Organizations. Heroes are selected from elite academies and trained in martial combat, power mastery, and strategic warfare. Lapu-Lapu is remembered as one of the strongest Heroes of his era, combining natural combat skill, tactical genius, and supernatural abilities to defend Maharlikara from overwhelming forces. Culture: Maharlikara celebrates its warrior heritage, emphasizing honor, skill, and personal growth. Festivals commemorate historic battles and legendary Heroes, while combat arts are taught alongside modern power training. Civilians are encouraged to develop basic abilities for self-defense, creating a society where even ordinary citizens are capable of responding to threats.

Trivia: Maharlikara is Philippines if it was never colonized, which is the state for this world.

Soutara Continent

Soutara is the continent conquered and unified by Maharlikara. It encompasses the archipelagos, mainland regions, and various islands of Southeast Asia. The empire maintains trade, military outposts, and Hero Academies throughout the continent, ensuring control while respecting local traditions. Powerful Heroes and Chieftains govern regions directly under the Emperor’s oversight. Global Relations: Maharlikara is respected and feared globally for its military prowess and powerful Heroes. Its diplomatic relations with Britannia and America are cautious, aware that Global Portal Disaster-era monsters require international coordination.

Rajah Bloodline / Dugong Rajah

The Rajah Bloodline, or Dugong Rajah, is the ruling family of the Maharlikara Empire. Every generation carries overwhelmingly powerful abilities, often tied to transformations into local animals or legendary mythical creatures. The bloodline is both feared and respected, their presence enough to command loyalty and terror. Current Leader: Hara Dayang Rajah – The reigning Queen of Maharlikara. Hara Dayang is feared across Soutara for her ruthlessness and mastery of supernatural power. Her signature ability, Rajah Anima: Ibong Adarna, allows her to fly at extreme speeds, manipulate the minds of enemies to induce psychosis, and petrify anyone who meets her gaze. Her appearance alone often disperses rebellion and instills terror among even the most hardened opponents. Heirs and Key Members: Rajah Lakan Rajah – Crown Prince and eldest son. Wields Rajah Anima: Bakunawa, granting him the ability to grow enormous in size, manipulate water and tidal forces, and crush enemies with draconic strength. He is the primary military commander of Maharlikara’s armed forces. Rajah Lakadya Rajah – Princess and youngest daughter. Her name reflects her mother’s, emphasizing their lineage. Possesses Rajah Anima: Sarimanok, allowing her to soar, manipulate illusions, and summon fiery feathers capable of cutting through metal. She oversees all Power Academies in Maharlikara and directs elite Royal Forces with unmatched strategic skill. Other Children – Hara Dayang’s other children are also powerful, each possessing unique abilities, though not as prominent in command or public recognition as Lakan and Lakadya. Ancestry: The family traces its lineage indirectly to Lapu-Lapu, the legendary Hero who defended the islands from foreign invaders. The Dugong Rajah continues his legacy of martial and supernatural dominance, producing generations of Heroes capable of defending and expanding Maharlikara.

Britannia

Britannia rose to global dominance over centuries through a combination of military innovation, ruthless imperial expansion, and the strategic use of powers. Their conquests during the 19th and 20th centuries reshaped Europe, bringing Germany, France, and other regions under their control. Known for both discipline and cruelty, Britannia’s rule is harsh but highly efficient, maintaining order through fear, overwhelming military might, and the strength of their Awakened Heroes. Unlike Maharlikara, Britannia’s governance is strict and centralized, with little autonomy for conquered territories. Government: Britannia is a monarchy ruled by the Royal Family, whose bloodline carries powerful hereditary abilities. The monarchy directly controls the Force of Britannia, the nation’s military and Hero Organization, as well as all elite Guilds. Nobility and military leaders are appointed based on loyalty, combat skill, and service to the crown. The royal family maintains an absolute hierarchy where even the most powerful Heroes answer to the sovereign. Military and Heroes: Britannia’s forces are unparalleled in the world. The Force of Britannia includes elite Superhuman units, Awakened Heroes, and strategic commanders drawn from the Royal Family. Heroes like Arthur (Blade Works) and Sylph (Storm) demonstrate the hereditary strength and tactical genius of the monarchy. Britannia does not publicly rank its Heroes like other nations; their power is centralized under royal command, and many of their top operatives are considered untouchable outside royal authorization. Culture: Britannia values discipline, hierarchy, and efficiency over individual freedoms. Citizens are expected to follow strict laws, and rebellion is met with overwhelming force. While feared abroad, the empire fosters loyalty and pride among its people, glorifying its military victories and Heroic accomplishments. Education emphasizes obedience, combat readiness, and mastery of powers from a young age.
