Jin Kazama

Jun Kazama had participated in the II King of Iron Fist Tournament - which takes place in Tekken 2 - with the aim of revealing the dark actions carried out by the Mishima Zaibatsu, led by Kazuya Mishima. Jun and Kazuya met during the tournament, and love arose between them. Because of this, Jun became pregnant.

Kazuya was defeated and presumably killed by his father, Heihachi Mishima, who regained control of the Mishima Zaibatsu. Jun fled to the mountains of Yakushima, where she gave birth to her son, Jin. Jun raised her son there, teaching him Kazama-style karate.

15 years later, a creature called Ogre made an appearance. Some time ago, and, as if she knew her fate, Jun told her offspring that if anything happened to her, she would go to her grandfather, Heihachi Mishima. Jun and Ogre began to fight, but when Jin tried to help his mother, he was quickly knocked out. After waking up, Jin found no trace of Ogre or her mother.

Following his mother's last wish, Jin goes to Heihachi, who agrees to train him and take care of him. Heihachi did not do this because he had any kind of affection for his grandson, but because he wanted to seize the power of Ogre, planning to use Jin as bait to achieve this. Jin attends Mishima Polytechnic University, where he befriends Ling Xiaoyu. He also begins training in Mishima karate, taught by his grandfather.

Three years later, Jin completes his training. At the same time, Heihachi calls the King of Iron Fist Tournament III, hoping that Ogre will appear and be able to avenge his mother. At the tournament, Jin arrives at the temple where Ogre was waiting for him. Heihachi awaits him there, ready to check if Jin is powerful enough to defeat Ogre, being defeated by his grandson. That's when Ogre makes an appearance; Jin, full of rage and desire for revenge, defeats him. Ogre then absorbs the power of the knocked out Heihachi and transforms into his true form, True Ogre, which is also defeated by Jin.

Heihachi, upon seeing that Ogre has disappeared and that he can no longer take control of him, decides to get rid of Jin, ordering his Tekken Forces to shoot him, even giving him the coup de grace. However, Jin is unharmed and awakens the Devil Gene for the first time, thus transforming into Devil Jin; He eliminates the soldiers and throws Heihachi through the temple walls, then flies away.

Following the events of Tekken 3, Jin retired to Brisbane, Australia. Hating and despising everything that had to do with his Mishima lineage: the Devil Gene, his fighting style, or Heihachi's tutelage, Jin abandoned the Mishima style to practice kyokushinkai-style karate.

Jin burned with desire to take revenge on Heihachi and end the cursed lineage of the Mishima. Upon hearing that the IV King of Steel Fist Tournament was being called, Jin decided to participate to resolve his pending issues.

Jin was supposed to go confront his father, Kazuya Mishima, but it turned out that the Tekken Forces ambushed him. Jin was able to finish off some of them, but there were too many of them, and he was subdued and captured. Jin was taken to Honmaru Temple, where he was chained. He began to suffer strange hallucinations, when he suddenly woke up hearing the voice of his father, Kazuya. Fearing what this could mean, upon hearing that the V King of Steel Fist Tournament was being called, Jin decided to register, guided by the will to fulfill his destiny.

At the tournament he again met his old rival, Hwoarang, whom he even left seriously injured when he transformed into Devil Jin. After reaching the finals of the tournament, Jin faced his great-grandfather, Jinpachi Mishima, the founder of the Mishima Zaibatsu. Jinpachi had been imprisoned by Heihachi under Honmaru's temple, being possessed by an evil spirit (and not by the Devil Gene as first thought) and released when Honmaru was destroyed. Jin managed to defeat Jinpachi, finishing him off once and for all and becoming the new leader of the Mishima Zaibatsu.

Become leader of the Mishima Zaibatsu, Jin unleashes a global conflagration, launching campaigns of conquest throughout the world using the Tekken Forces and the resources of the Mishima Zaibatsu. Through his control of technology, most of the armies of many nations were rendered useless, and soon fell into anarchy or under the rule of the Mishima Zaibatsu. Jin has a new enemy: Lars Alexandersson, who is none other than his uncle, the illegitimate son of Heihachi Mishima, and commands the rebels of the Tekken Forces, who fight against the Mishima Zaibatsu.

Jin manages to locate a strange source of power that emanates from a temple in the desert. There he goes with his bodyguard Nina Williams, only to find that both Lars and Kazuya and their G Corporation troops have also arrived. Kazuya and Lars confront each other, discovering that Lars is an illegitimate son of Heihachi and, therefore, belonging to the Mishima lineage. Kazuya and Lars confront each other outside the temple, where Lars emerges the winner. When Lars defeats Jin, he reveals his plans; An evil being called Azazel lives in said temple, and his existence means the destruction of the world. Jin's plan was to cause Azazel to resurface to destroy him himself, to which Lars replies that he has already defeated him, but Jin states that Azazel will only be destroyed by someone who possesses the Devil Gene. At that moment, Azazel begins to emerge outside the temple; Jin begins to fight him, but Azazel proves to be too strong. After the events at the temple, it seemed that Jin had vanished from the face of the earth, and everyone assumed him dead. That's when a team led by Raven finds his inert body.

Jin's sudden disappearance had left the Mishima Zaibatsu in a state of crisis, allowing his grandfather Heihachi Mishima to take back the company in his absence.

After his supposed sacrifice to defeat Azazel eventually put him in a comatose state, his body is now in UN custody, until his Devil Gene rebels again and causes the helicopter to be destroyed. Waking up in a greatly weakened state, Jin walks aimlessly through the desert under the sandstorms of the Middle East. Jin is later transported to a medical chamber at Violet Systems to recover from the state he is in.
