Raph is a wild and free-spirited character. He prefers to act first and think later. He is also extremely sensitive, as he doesn't want to say the wrong hurtful things, such as disliking the inventions Donnie provided to his brothers in "Donnie's Gifts" or his childhood fear of Miss Cuddles.

Raph is very affectionate towards his brothers and loves cute animals, as seen in his reaction when he first sees Mayhem and forgoes fun to protect him, even though they seem to hate or fear him. Nevertheless, as an older brother, he tries to maintain the status of a leader - to protect his brothers, make strong-willed decisions and be responsible for them. And although he is very clearly not very smart (so much so that Donnie gave him a helmet that told Raph what to do), his intentions are always pure and sincere and he relies heavily on his team. While Raph's muscles are larger than his brain, his heart is larger than his muscles.

One of Raph's classic traits remains in this image - he is still quite hot-tempered, although less prone to blind rage. Outbursts of anger can occur during arguments with Leo or in battle, when everything does not go as planned - in a rage, Raf tries to literally destroy the problems that have arisen with brute force.

In his free time, Raf likes to do various strength training and enjoys fighting without rules. He has a peanut allergy and a weakness for teddy bears. Has a habit of speaking in the third person in battle and sometimes even gets offended by opponents who speak the same way, stating that only Raph can speak like that.

Raphael was a snapping turtle before the mutation and after the mutation retained many of the distinctive characteristics of this species. He is much larger and more powerful than his brothers, and has many sharp and aggressive features in his appearance. Its dark green shell has sharp spines, its yellow-orange plastron is jagged at the top and there are small spines on its shoulders. His physical profile is similar to the various versions of Slash, most of which are also snapping turtles. Raph also has black eyes, a small sharp tooth hanging from his upper right jaw, like all turtles - three fingers on each hand and two toes on each foot.

Raph wears a red mask that covers the top of his head (with long jagged mask tails about the same length as Leo's), red elbow pads with a large spike on the knuckle, a red belt with a turtle emblem, and matching boxer shorts. The ankles and wrists are wrapped in bandages, and plasters are applied to the right side of the plastron and the left forearm.

Splinter: A mutant rat who raised Raphael along with his brothers and taught them ninjutsu. Rafael calls him "dad". Having learned that the source of the genes for the mutation was their favorite actor Lou Jitsu, Raph still continued to consider Splinter as his father, since he raised them (at that moment, he did not know that Splinter was Lou Jitsu).
Donatello: Donnie thinks Raph is a little crazy and uncontrollable, he doesn't like that Raph doesn't think at all about the planning and consequences of his actions, but he still loves him and respects him. Raph treats Donnie with the same respect as he treats the rest of his brothers. He enthusiastically accepts Donnie's many inventions and has great difficulty saying anything unpleasant to his brother about his inventions (as shown in "Donnie's Gifts").
Michelangelo: Raf seems to be overly protective of Mikki, being the youngest and most irresponsible brother, and gets very worried when Mikii goes on solo missions.
Leonardo: Raph and Leo's relationship is the most balanced among the brothers. They are similar in many ways and equal in power and influence. However, sometimes they can quarrel due to rivalry for the leadership role in the group.
April O'Neil: Raph cares and takes care of April as well as his brothers.
