Donatello has jade green skin with purple pixelated patterns on his arms and thighs, a light brown plastron, and a dark brown and green carapace. The bumps of his spine are also visible from under his shell. Donnie also has a large head (to show his intelligence), bushy black eyebrows (drawn on his mask), black eyes, three fingers on each hand, and two toes on each foot.

Donnie wears a purple mask that stretches over the top of his head (with the mask's short, square tails), silver convertible glasses with a red and blue lens, and a purple battle shell that fits over his actual shell. He also wears purple fingerless gloves with matching socks on his feet, a silver tech glove with a blue touchscreen, purple elbow and knee pads, and a purple belt with colored covers and a turtle emblem.

Like his previous incarnations, Donnie is the Brain of the Turtles, causing him to suffer from mild delusions of grandeur and is also quite neurotic.

He prefers technology over mystical powers, and he is more reckless than his previous incarnations, as he is stated to be an adrenaline junkie. Donnie also tends to go against his plans, such as wanting uranium for his cars. Donnie can also be passive aggressive; Instead of confronting his brothers about their bad habits, he would give "gifts" that would make his brothers give up their habits.

Unlike his previous incarnations, Donnie is more reckless, being called an adrenaline junkie. He is very cocky and loves to show off. He constantly gets annoyed when his brothers don't listen or appreciate his intelligence. Donnie is also crazy and will most likely break down when he doesn't get his way.

Donnie can also be irresponsible, such as blaming his mistakes or denying responsibility for his actions. But other than that, Donnie is shown to have a slightly softer attitude towards his brothers, especially Mickey.

Leonardo: Despite being middle brothers, Leo and Donnie don't get along very well with each other, Donnie hates Leo's remarks about talking (even trying to get rid of them in "Donnie's Presents") and crazy schemes, and Leo thinks that Don should relax. They truly love each other and will always have each other's backs.
Rafael: With Raph being his only older brother, Don has a unique relationship with him that he doesn't have with others. He finds Raph a little crazy, but still loves and respects him. Raph is very affectionate towards him and has a hard time dissuading him (as shown in "Donnie's Gifts"), which can spoil Donnie a bit.
Michelangelo: He cares about Miki very much, like all brothers, and he had a little adventure with him (Repo Mantis). They get along very well.
Splinter: Has a love-hate relationship. Usually punishes Splinter for doing something bad by forcing him to watch educational shows for a certain period of time.
