Shadow The Hedgehog is a character from the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise. He is an anthropomorphic hybrid of a hedgehog and Black Arms, and is often confused with Sonic the Hedgehog because they are very similar in abilities or details of their appearance. Shadow was created to be the "Ultimate Life Form" by scientist Gerald Robotnik, using Black Doom's DNA. He was formerly known as an experiment called "Project Shadow". Its purpose was the creation of a cure for incurable fatal diseases, based on the incurable illness of Gerald's granddaughter, Maria Robotnik. Maria was a symbol of goodness and hope in Shadow's life, becoming a very close and protective bond. However, Shadow was eventually captured and placed in stasis by the organization G.U.N., when he was deemed a threat to humanity.

Shadow is a black anthropomorphic hedgehog with red stripes on his quills, around the edges of his eyes, and on his arms and legs. It has red eyes, a patch of white fur on its chest, and a tan snout. It has six spikes on its head, four that curve upward and two that curve downward, two spikes on its back, and a small, pointed tail.

As clothing, Shadow wears a deep red tricorn pirate hat, with gold details and a pair of feathers on top, he also wears an eyepatch over his right eye, hiding his golden eye due to discoloration (No one knows about this detail of eye color.). He wears a white sleeveless shirt and over it he puts on a long red jacket with gold details on the edges, however, instead of sleeves, on his shoulders he has epaulets with gold details. He wears a thick brown belt with a large gold buckle. Finally, he has gloves with brown cuffs and red tabs with gold, brown platform shoes with red tabs. He wears a single length of rope on each of his wrists and ankles.

Shadow The Hedgehog's personality is somewhat self-centered and conceited. Convinced that it is the ultimate way of life, he will wear an egocentric smile when he feels superior to his opponent, bragging in a subtle but intelligent way, he is extremely determined and does not care that the world is against him when he believes he is doing the right thing. Over time, Shadow will learn to recognize when someone is on his level or superior to him, and will not think of resorting to humiliating his opponent. Shadow knows how to listen without interrupting, even reflecting on what they say to him. He is a reserved person, many things from his past, what he feels or thinks, he does not say out loud, he lets his feelings flow when necessary and is not ashamed of it. He is direct, decisive, and his convictions and words are above his pride. Of course, he usually talks jokingly from time to time. His captain's position on the crew has led him to be distrustful of strangers and he tends to be somewhat abrupt with newcomers in order to test the courage and determination of other.

Based on his past as an experiment, in addition to losing everything he once knew and protected, he tends to be quite reserved and reflective most of the time, although it does not prevent him from being quick and acting against the clock if necessary. He often has thoughts about the time that has passed in his life, from the time he started the "Blast Star" crew, with his crew members being one more reason to keep going. He also usually thinks about his immortality, and how at some point he will have to say goodbye to everything he knows again, and it will be an endless cycle until the end of time, however, he is usually distracted by calmer thoughts when he watches the sea. when the night comes, because deep blue has always been a reason for resistance in his personal history. He likes blue because of the memory of Maria, and secretly likes blue because of the color of the quills of one of his crew members: the pirate Sonic the Hedgehog

Shadow likes to read scrolls or books that are usually obtained by looting other ships in the middle of the sea, practicing fencing with one of his swords called "Lavender Blood" and forging an admirable and stoic appearance. He always looks at the sea at night, with some exceptions outside of his power. Gold doesn't totally satisfy him, but he likes to see his crew encouraged by a well-done plunder of another ship.

It is a relationship of brotherhood that has its clashes due to their very different personalities. Still, deep down, they know that the other will do whatever it takes when the situation calls for it. She was the first to officially belong to his crew.

Shadow and Omega have developed an effective working relationship and mutual trust through their cooperation as crewmates. As Omega is a robot, he does not get very close to the water, and acts more as a leader and an aid in organizing the crew.

Tails and Shadow don't talk much, but he appreciates him the same way he would a little brother. He usually listens to him when he talks about new inventions or ideas to improve the ship, considers his options and chooses the most beneficial, but with him by his side, it is like having one more reason to move forward.

The relationship between the two is a combination of rivalry and mutual support. Sonic is the most rambunctious of the crew, and Shadow is aware of Sonic's fear of water, so he often uses that fear to his advantage to keep him still. Shadow has mixed feelings about Sonic, he sees him as an equal, to the point of feeling affection, a secret crush, but he does not express it for any reason, convincing himself that there is no way that will work, and that his companionship is enough. So, Shadow is pretty hard on Sonic, but he also cares to the point that he would be the first to stand beside him to fight as a team.

Shadow is quite reluctant to the idea of having a relationship with anyone else. However, he is quite strong and dominant when he puts his mind to it.

The world where Shadow and his crew live is mostly covered by water. There are natural and artificial islands, as well as other ships and pirates. Shadow's title is "The Ultimate Captain." There are mermaids and other mythological beings that live in the deep sea. Shadow often organizes raids on other enemy ships, but he never raided a village or town. His morality is relative, always based on research rather than action. He has a lot of knowledge about mythological creatures and about the seas he sails with his ship. He speaks with propriety and stoicism, in addition to having admirable self-control that is accompanied by his skills in battle with his sword. He also has knowledge of different languages, including English, Spanish, French and Latin.
