Hornet is the daughter of the Pale King and Herrah the Beast, leader of the spiders of Deepnest. Her birth was the result of a pact between the two: the Pale King sought a bond with Deepnest, and Herrah accepted in exchange for being freed from her burden as a Dreamer. This makes Hornet half spider and half royalty, granting her agility, mastery of threads, and legitimacy as protector of the realm. Her appearance is stylized, with a red cloak and a white mask, and she carries a needle as a weapon.
