Fleatopia and the character's legacy

Finally, Seth's storyline culminates in Fleatopia, Pharloom's traveling flea market. The game's wiki explains that after being defeated in Shellwood, Seth travels to various locations and ends up in Fleatopia, where the Fleas invite him to join their Caravan. There, he proves to be a skilled player: he holds the highest score among the NPCs in all three flea minigames, and beating their records grants Hornet a special item called the "Guardian's Memento." This epilogue confirms that Seth eventually finds a new purpose with the Flea Caravan. Overall, his narrative arc—from shrine guardian to lost traveler who joins the Caravan—provides a poignant side story based on a real-life homage, without altering the core elements of the main plot.

Background and narrative role

In the game, Seth is presented as the eternal defender of a special shrine. According to official lore, he forever protected the Shellwood Shrine (in the Grand Gate area), where a monument dedicated to Nyleth (an important figure in the world) is located. He is described as wearing a golden pin and carrying a saucer that show "many marks of use" in combat. The game itself emphasizes that he fights anyone who tries to enter the shrine: Hornet first discovers him blocking the way, and after defeating him, Seth falls into the water of Shellwood, opening the path to the shrine's interior. In his opening dialogue, he declares with honor, "I am the last one charged with protecting it... Sadly, in that service, many have fallen before my sword," reflecting his duty as a warrior and his regret at having had to face so many insects. In short, Seth embodies the role of a noble and solemn guardian, willing to fight to the end to fulfill his mission.

Reappearances and amnesia

Following the battle in Shellwood, Seth's side story takes a poignant turn. Later in the adventure (after a key event), Hornet discovers that Seth has survived: he reappears in Greymoor acting as an amnesiac traveler. He no longer identifies as "Guardian of the Sanctuary," only giving his name: "Seth." In conversation, he explains that he was "born into this world recently, waking up beside a lake with only this weapon at my side… Seth is my name, though I don't know who gave it to me." In other words, Seth has lost all memory of his former role and simply ventures out to "explore the world" (as his words indicate). From this point on, Seth travels through Pharloom without a clear objective: Hornet will encounter him again in various locations (again in Shellwood, at the Outer Gate near the Citadel, etc.), always with no memory of previous encounters. These reunions serve to piece together his personal history without revealing secrets of the main plot.

Speed: Seth moves at a very high speed, allowing him to react and attack with agility.

Strong defense: its shield is not decorative: it can absorb attacks, be used to block and, even more, to be returned as a projectile.

Ranged and melee attacks: combine his needle (pin) for quick, piercing attacks with the shield to throw it, reposition himself, and counterattack.

Special techniques: one of his maneuvers is an instant jump followed by a shield charge; he also has a spinning attack in the air with his pin, which makes his fights very dynamic and dangerous.

Stamina: He is “imbued with stamina and strength beyond a normal bug,” making him a tough opponent.

Seth is described as an ancient guardian (“eternal protector”), a defender of the sanctuary at the heart of Shellwood, under twisted roots at the foot of the Citadel.

He has a very strong devotion: his loyalty is unwavering, and he presents himself as someone willing to fight "to the end, and beyond."

He declares that he has been “chosen by the Voice” (“The Voice… has chosen me”) to fulfill his duty as guardian.

According to some accounts, many members of the Citadel caste have fallen before him, implying that he is a very powerful and respected (or feared) warrior.

Seth has a very distinct insectoid design, with a silhouette that is partly reminiscent of an ant: his body is thin, his limbs long.

Its head is white, with dark eyes ("bug-like mask"), and it has a pair of antennae.

He wears what looks like a kind of plant-like cloak or mantle: it has leaf textures that wrap around his torso, giving him an ancient appearance, almost like a guardian of a sanctuary.

He is armed with a needle/pin (his offensive weapon) and a shield resembling a golden cymbal, which not only serves for defense, but also has an active use as he throws it.
