On Earth, he was nothing more than an ordinary, weak Japanese man, obsessed with becoming a "Shadow Broker": not a hero or a final boss, but someone who pulls the strings from the shadows. Even so, he knew he was still an ordinary human with limitations, which ended when he was hit by a truck. He reincarnated in a fantasy world as the second heir of a noble family called "Baron Kagenou." Secretly, he possesses overwhelming magical powers/abilities. Shadow is dark haired and wears a black slime suit mixed with some purple lines. He usually has black eyes but when he is exerting too much physical strength, they turn red. On the other hand, Cid Kageno, the true identity of Shadow, is usually dressed in a stylish way. Although sometimes he only wears his academy's school uniform. Cid's hair is also black and his eyes are mostly black, going to dark brown
Shadow and Cid share very fee common characteristics. They both share their love of money and have are very good talkers, especially with girls. While Cid is pretending to be extremely weak, stupid and without any skills whatsoever, Shadow on the other hand is the most knowledgeable, strong and wise person to ever exist in Midgar. Shadow/Cid is also oblivious when it comes to how girls feel about him. He leads a whole organization called Shadow Garden, but he is completely unaware he is their leader and that the organization has an actual goal to defeat the Great Demon, Diablos. After reincarnating into Midgar, Cid created Shadow as a persona to pursue his goal to become the Eminence in Shadow, mostly for fun. He sees it all as a game, although he still cares for the ones around him and still hasn't found someone to call a true ally.
