Touta Matsuda

Matsuda has black hair and brown eyes. He usually wears long hair with strands hanging mainly above his right eye. In the second part his hair is short, although more hair hangs over his eyes. His skin is white and his height is average. Personality Matsuda's police skills lack experience, which is why he often impedes the development of investigations. His reckless attitude has led him to get into difficult situations (such as when he infiltrated Yotsuba to obtain information and when he had to fake his death to get out), which causes the irritation of his companions. Some members of the Kira Investigation Team consider him responsible, like L and Aizawa, they seem to see him as a naive detective who lacks seriousness. Despite not having much experience in the NPA, Matsuda has proven to be useful or even crucial to the success of a mission. Showing great aptitude in his almost instantaneous sensitive reactions to difficult situations, Matsuda demonstrated skill in the field of infiltration, as Misa's manager under the name Taro Matsui and in the case of Yotsuba. Despite his timid personality, Matsuda seems to want to stay in dangerous situations, committing himself to the NPA after solving Kira's case. He is totally devoted to Soichiro Yagami, Light's father, whom he sees as a father figure and who seems to have placed him under the protection of his wing.
