Fantasy World

in this world, there are various humanoid species. all of them try to live a peaceful coexistence but the occasional war comes up. this world has living gods, magic, an even monsters. the technological advancement of this world is that of the Middle ages: barely there. however feel free to discover something new. invent, create, destroy, or even live a quiet life. you can be a commoner or a noble, is your choice.

this world is Inhabited by various species of creatures, from humans to demihumans to even demons. this world is also host to numerous breeds of monster.

a species that closely resembles human, with the added features of a tail, wolf ears, and slightly longer canine teeth or "fangs". most werewolves will resemble their father, but some can have slight differences, such as a lighter or darker hair color, different eyes colors, etc. werewolves try to be a peaceful people, not attacking humans or other races unless provoked. they (obviously) have the ability to transform into wolves, but they also have a "half-beast" form, which is what you typically think when you hear "werewolf".

now, despite the stories of vampires, the ones in this world are not all that different from humans, except they have longer canine teeth, red or orange eyes, and pale skin. a vampire needs at least 2 quarts of blood a week to survive, but they can drink the blood of just about anything, not just humans. most prefer to drink blood from beef or pork, while others vary. vampires don't turn to ash in sunlight, but they do get sunburns really easily. vampires are well known for their skills in art, pottery, and magic development.

gargoyles are a people that are mostly similar to humans in appearance, but they share a close resemblance to the Demons. their skin is made of granite, they usually have light or dark grey eyes, they have bat-like wings, pointed ears, and a few sport horns. they have a tendency to avoid light, only emerging during the early morning, dusk, and night time hours. they are well known for their architectural skills along with the quality of their masonry.

demihumans are a species similar to werewolves, except the animals they resemble vary. they can live just about anywhere thanks to their natural resistance to harsh weather or terrain. they are a more primitive species, but each type of demihuman has their own strengths and each one has some form of advantage in combat due to their animal traits. they are talented hunters and make for perfect spies and scouts.

the Dwarves are a people that pride themselves on their technology, blacksmithing techniques, and the quality of their goods. dwarves have a fondness for alcohol, whether it be in production or consumption. they make their homes underground or inside of mountains, mostly due to the rich resources and natural protection from foreign entities.

these creatures are simple. they are basically humans with large wings, sometimes spanning 14 feet. there are unfortunately no male harpies, so they breed with other species to produce offspring. the child in question will be born in a similar way to a chicken: the harpy will lay an egg, and over time the creature inside develops. depending on the gender of the child, they could be a harpy or the same species as the father. harpies most prominent features are their wings and their forearms. a harpies forearm has the shape of a human forearm, with the appearance of that of a chicken or hawk. harpies prefer to live on mountain tops, cliff faces, or in thin forest canopies.

the Dragonnewts are similar to the creature known as a lizardman, with a vast majority of them having a lizard shaped head, scaled skin, webbed feet, and wings. on occasion, there is a rare breed of Dragonnewt (most commonly female) that will closely resemble a human, but with dragon wings. Dragonnewts thrive near water, whether it be a lake, river, stream, or an ocean. this is due to their affinity for water magic and that they are decendants of the sea dragons.

to be clear, there are 3 kinds of elves: high elves, dark elves, and woodland elves. each of these types have their own distinctive features, but they all have two things in common: they have pointed ears and they all look like teenagers or young adults, despite being hundreds of years old. high elves have the highest magic potential out of all, with most magic discoveries being made by high elves. they typically have long silver or chestnut brown hair, a youthful appearance, and an almond hue to their skin. dark elves usually have a slight blue tint to their skin, mostly due to their resistance to fire. they have a high affinity for fire magic, along with thunder magic. they usually have black or dark colored hair. woodland elves are a sly bunch. they are short, fast and nimble, making for great archers and better assassins. they usually have a light brown skin tone, along with cream or tan colored hair. as the name says, they love to make their homes in forests, making perfect use of their skills as huntsman. woodland elves are also the only elves known to eat meat.

technically orcs are a branch of elf, but the bare a close resemblance to goblins or ogres. they typically have light green skin, dark brown hair, and short yet pointed ears. they have a low affinity for any magic, but instead have increased strength, hardend skin, and non-functional pain receptors, making for great berserker or warriors. they can easily run at full speed while wearing full platemail, and they can swing large weapons like its nothing. they have gained a favorable reputation as mercenaries or body guards.

despite the name, Demon's aren't beings of evil or destruction, but are actually just highly territorial creatures. they bare a resemblance to human in terms of physique, but they have pale red skin, horns, and bat-like wings. they have a very high affinity for dark or fire magic attributes, but are unable to use healing or holy magic. they are physically the strongest of the races, being able to easily lift large beasts such as moose, Buffalo, or even direwolves. the demon's signed a peace treaty with the other races after the 3rd great demon war, bringing an end to the chaos.

just your typical humans. they make good merchant's, slaves, alchemists, or soldiers. as you know, each human is different, even if in a small way. humans have the ability to use most types of magic, and (with training) make very good warriors.

Magic comes in these 9 attributes: Fire, Water, Earth, Gale, Dark, Light, Healing, Holy, and Enhancement. Fire, Water, Earth, Gale, Dark, Light, and Healing are self-explanatory, but I should give some insight on Holy and Enhancement magic. Holy magic is basically for purification, cleansing, and Resurrection, but it can also create wards or barriers. Enhancement magic is basically a buff from a video game. it can increase strength, speed, regen, or durability. it can also harden your armor or imbue your weapons with a magic attribute.
