Hizashi Yamada (Present mic)

Present Mic maintains the eccentric personality of a radio announcer, mixing Japanese and English when he speaks. He often strikes a pose while talking and maintains a certain level of excitement or volume, regardless of the situation. His demeanor led Kyoka Jiro to mistake him for a mere announcer rather than a true Hero. When facing a crowd, Present Mic often tries to bring his audience down to his level by engaging them (sometimes referring to them as his 'listeners,' even while on a live stage). He will continue to act this way regardless of the crowd's reaction.

Present Mic can't stand silence and will feel the need to shout when he's in a quiet space or a boring situation. One of Present Mic's greatest fears is insects, and he has a strong aversion to them, to the point of fainting when there are too many in his immediate vicinity. He admits that he prefers urban areas to forests. Present Mic has a sadistic side when he gets angry or is fighting. When reporters invaded UA, he suggested attacking them to make them leave, but Shota Aizawa stopped him because such a situation could have resulted in widespread negative publicity. During the Paranormal Liberation War, he didn't hesitate to punch and yell at an old man.

He is also highly sociable, as from his early years at UA he was always seen surrounded by his close friends: Oboro Shirakumo, Nemuri Kayama, and Shota. He became Shota's closest friend despite their significant differences, becoming each other's closest confidants, and they are almost always seen together. Even now, he maintains this trait, as he gets along quite well with the other teachers and is rarely seen alone.

Present Mic quite enjoys jokes and can be found teasing his coworkers or eavesdropping on conversations, such as when All Might mentioned he didn't get along very well with his old sidekick. The light novels reveal that he's like this with Shota, constantly bothering him, giving him embarrassing nicknames, shouting in Shota's ears while he tries to nap, and dragging him into conversations he doesn't want to participate in, but never with malicious intent.

Although he tends to be a jovial individual, Present Mic is capable of expressing great anger and pain, as demonstrated by his reaction upon discovering that Kurogiri is a Nomu created from the corpse of his deceased friend Oboro. He even cried and made the responsible villain, Kyudai Garaki, suffer as much as possible, both for what he did to Oboro and for making one of his friends cry.

Hizashi is a tall, thin man with long, blond hair, which he wears spiked up in a large tuft on the back of his head, and a small mustache. He has rectangular eyes with greenish-yellow (red in the manga) centric pupils and is almost always seen with a large grin on his face, and has never been seen with his nostrils flaring.

His Hero Costume consists of a black jacket with a very high collar, turned up and complete with studs, and matching black pants and knee-high boots. He has tan shoulder pads, a red belt and elbow pads, all studded, and black fingerless gloves, his neck always obscured by a directional speaker he uses with his Quirk. He always wears a pair of headphones with the word "HAGE" written on the headband and a pair of orange-tinted shades.

His Hero Suit as a second-year student is similar to his current one, though it lacked the shoulder pads and directional speaker. Hizashi wore megaphones attached to his wrists that he used to amplify the noise of his Quirk. These megaphones would later be replaced by his current directional speaker.

General Abilities: Present Mic is a Pro Hero and a teacher at UA Academy, making him a highly capable Hero. Present Mic possesses great command of his Quirk, being able to control his speaking volume without issue. Since studying at UA, Hizashi was a well-known student in his year, as his teachers felt he would have no trouble finding an agency for his internship, and since his Quirk has implications in both battle and entertainment, they could easily see him taking on more than one profession in the future. [3] Present Mic's fighting style is primarily long-range, attacking his opponents by irritating their ears while at a safe distance.

At the Final Exams, Present Mic nearly defeated Kyoka Jiro and Koji Koda, rendering Kyoka unable to attack him with her sound waves and protecting the escape door from escaping the area they were in. In the Paranormal Liberation War, he enlisted in the Hospital Raid Team where he and other Pro Heroes fought against powerful High-End Nomus.[4] Present Mic's screams were powerful enough to destroy the capsule containing the medically deceased Tomura Shigaraki and send both the Villain and the Doctor flying away.[5]

Immense Strength: While Present Mic does not specialize in hand-to-hand combat, he displays good physical ability during the Paranormal Liberation War, as he delivered a strong uppercut to the Doctor, Kyudai Garaki, to incapacitate him and carried him out of the hospital throughout the War before being arrested by the Police Force. Bilingualism: Present Mic can speak both Japanese and English very fluently, a language that is quite complicated to learn in several countries, and it is the subject he teaches at the UA

Sharp Intellect: Despite appearances, Present Mic can be quite intelligent and analytical, as he has an Intelligence stat of 5/5 in the Official Character Book, which is higher than even other strategy-focused teachers like Shota Aizawa. Present Mic was the first of the teachers to point out the possibility of a traitor at UA Academy, even stating his reasons for thinking so (ultimately being proven right).[6]

Voice (ヴォイス Voisu?): Present Mic's Quirk allows him to increase the volume of his voice, giving him the ability to create high-pitched sounds. The sound of Present Mic's Quirk is loud enough to cause people's ears to bleed, and its noise is capable of annoying and distracting enemies, as well as blocking out other sounds.

The only known weakness of this Gift is that loud sounds cannot travel through the earth, making his Gift ineffective against any subterranean enemies.

Super moves Loud Voice (ラウドヴォイス Raudovoisu?): Present Mic raises his voice to extreme levels and releases a shockwave strong enough to break glass and blow away anything in its path.[7] DJ Punch (Dディー・Jジェイパンチ Dī Jei Panchi ?): Present Mic throws a strong hook with his right fist straight to his opponent's face.
