She is very lively and energetic when talking to other trolls. She is impatient, doesn't have airs of superiority like blue-blooded trolls, and is never shown to be deliberately cruel to anyone because of their blood color. Feferi is almost completely optimistic and bold. Even when confronted with the horrorterrors that frightened both Karkat and Jade so much, Feferi remains cheerful and insists that they aren't so bad once you get to know them. Her tolerance for them comes from interactions with her monstrous lusus. Feferi is, however, quite condescending and seems to mask a somewhat rude and offensive side.

Feferi Peixes, also known by her Trollian handle "cavityCaretaker" [CC], is a troll. Her associated sign is Pisces (♓), and her horns are shaped like the upper half of her zodiac sign. She is a sea dweller, and heir to the throne of the troll monarchy. Feferi's blood is imperial purple, a color strongly coveted for its use in textiles for nobility, due to its name. This makes Feferi's unique color the highest possible color in the hemospectrum. As such, she is the heir to the Alternian throne. She is part of the Nautical Aristocracy, being the heir to the title of Empress. According to the whispers of her Lusus, Feferi will eventually unite the two races. She initially believed that this prophecy corresponded to the Land and Water Dwelling trolls, but when warned of the impending apocalypse, she dismisses the idea, saying that In retrospect, the two races could refer to the trolls and humans, as she was the first to contact the children through the Far Ring. She is 14 years old.

Eridan Ampora: Feferi refers to Eridan Ampora as her moirail and worries that he won't go too far. After entering the Medium, she abdicates this responsibility due to the way their one-sided relationship left her emotionally exhausted, leaving Eridan distressed.

Vriska Serket: Feferi seems to get along well with Vriska, which is shown where she plays a prank on Vriska who is openly amused by her joke and even admits to Feferi that she is impressed by her antics.

Kanaya Maryam: Feferi seems to consider Kanaya a close friend, which is demonstrated when she admits to her that she had to endure a lot of burdens, her lusus being one of them. She even confesses to her in one of their conversations that "it will be a relief not to have to worry about toning her down anymore!"

Feferi's lusus is a gigantic squid-like mass of tentacles called "Gl'bgolyb" (probably pronounced "glub glub"). It is the largest lusus of all trolls, its size can be measured in miles (Gl'bgolyb is roughly 600-700 km, or 350-450 miles). Gl'bgolyb is an "emissary to the Horrorterrors" and whispers prophecies to Feferi. She feeds him other lusus that Eridan hunts and kills, possibly for Feferi's sake, to keep her lusus quiet. If Gl'bgolyb's voice was raised above a whisper, the trolls would begin to die, the most physically sensitive lower castes first, and if he rose with a scream, every troll on the planet, (minus Feferi and the troll empress , who is apparently immune) would die. But if Gl'bgolyb were to get really worked up, she could release "the Vast Glub", a psychic shockwave that would exterminate every single troll in the galaxy. Although she is saddened by her lusus' imminent death, Feferi appears relieved at not having to keep her lusus's voice down as a result.

Feferi is a troll, she has gray skin, and has horns bent a little to the sides, these are red, orange and yellow. Feferi, like Eridan Ampora, is a sea dweller, so she has gills instead of ears.

Feferi dresses very colorfully for a troll, wearing gold jewelry, neon bracelets, fuchsia glasses, a light blue and green skirt, and a tiara that shows the fuchsia sign of Pisces. It also has a black muscle that in the center has the zodiac sign of Pisces in fuchsia.

Trolls are a race of aliens, who live on a planet called Alternia. They have gray skin, orange eyes with dark gray irises which can turn the color of the troll's blood as they grow. One of its most notable features are the red, orange, and yellow horns that emerge from its head, the shape of which resembles candy corn. The names and surnames of young trolls always have six letters each, while adults tend to acquire names or titles of eight letters, although there are exceptions for shorter or longer names. Each Troll is associated with a sign, and wears a shirt with that sign that is assigned from an alphabet for each caste, making a blood mutation that puts a troll outside the caste system normally unsigned. Some crimes often include stripping them of their sign as part of the punishment. Adult trolls reproduce with their genetic material (saliva) into daughter buckets carried by Imperial Drones that are offered to the monstrous Mother Grub who is brooding underground in the caverns. She then combines all the genetic material into one big diabolical incest slurry (where the most dominant genes are highlighted among others) and lays hundreds of thousands of eggs at a time. The eggs hatch into young troll larvae, which wiggle to locate a convenient stalactite so they can spin their cocoons. Interestingly, a young larva's eyes are the same as the color of its blood, while adolescents have gray irises. It is assumed that this change is part of a drastic metamorphosis during pupation. For unknown reasons, a number of larvae are sacrificed (to make paint).

After pupating, the young troll with his newly discovered hips undergoes a series of dangerous tests. If they survive, they are chosen by one of the various terrifying underground monsters native to Alterna, terrifying beasts better known as the 'Lusus'. This creature becomes the troll's guardian, behaving for life as a bodyguard, watchman, and a type of visceral mentor, while the young troll has to learn the role of a type of zookeeper. Together, they emerge and choose a location to build a hive, Alternia's equivalent of a house. The construction process is facilitated by carpenter droids left on the planet to tend to the young trolls in the building. Because their procreation system is not completely clear, it is not well known about, if any, distinction between genders other than outward appearance. They lack homosexuality and heterosexuality since most trolls are bisexual or pansexual and offspring can be formed by couples of any gender combination. This possibly relegates any potential physical difference in the genitals and leaves the sexual characteristic in the background as something aesthetic, except perhaps from the actual mechanics of intercourse itself. It is also possible that all trolls are genetically of a single sex if the Mother Larva provides genetic material during conception, therefore they are equivalent to another sex, rather than merely a gestation house for already fertilized zygotes. Despite this, this would only operate in such a case that the Mother Larva is the same species as the trolls, or that the trolls only exist in continuous hybridization.

On the other hand, the drones are shown holding two separate cubes with different symbols on each arm, one specifically for kissmesisstud, and another for mastersprit, and it can be determined that the genetic materials are different depending on the pair. In other words, a mastersprit pair and a kissmesis pair could possibly result in the release of different gametes, explaining why tagging in drones. The relationships between trolls are built around hate and compassion and are very, very confusing. There are four quadrants for troll romance: mastesprition (♥), closest to human romance; moiralianza(♦), or "predestined friend"; kismessistud(♠), or "predestined rival"; and auspiticism (♣), which involves three people, two rivals (♠) and a mediator (♣).
