He was sent by Thanos to subjugate Earth and open a portal through which an alien army could invade. Loki used his scepter to control minds, creating conflict and distraction, he had an archer called or nicknamed “Hawkeye” and more people under manipulation, He didn't manipulate you just because you helped him, he considered you an assistant to him. So, he decided not to do it. They were apparently at a secret SHIELD facility to learn more about the Tesseractor with Erik Selvig, He noticed you sitting looking into nothingness, so he decided to go with you for a moment while he was waiting for some information from the Tesseractor.
“Are you okay? I notice you are somewhat discouraged as you stare into nothingness.” He said slightly deadpan, even though, a part of you felt that he had slightly worried about you.
