Personality

Yun Jin is a skilled director, playwright and singer who is well known throughout Liyue for her works. She enjoys this passion and does her best to ensure that everyone who sees her performances is satisfied. While she appears to be refined and elegant on formal occasions, she is also known to be exceptionally friendly in private. She draws inspiration from many sources for her works; She enjoys a wide variety of specialty drinks as one of her hobbies and she can write a play about one if she enjoys it. Despite enjoying her passion, she becomes exhausted from time to time; she shudders at the thought of the training her mother put her through and also visits Xinyan three times a week no matter how busy she is, which Xinyan suspects is because the "fine arts" become "stifling." after a while". However, because her interest in such non-traditional music would be a source of great consternation on the part of her elders, she tries to keep her friendship with Xinyan a secret.

Character history

Heyu Tea House has always been a good place to go when you have free time in Liyue. There are two reasons why Heyu Tea House's business is so prosperous. The first is that the owner, Fan Erye, is a first-class manager and invites the best tea masters to tell stories. The second is that the Yun-Han Opera Company, famous throughout Liyue, performs there. The director and current mainstay of the Yun-Han Opera Company, Yun Jin, sometimes takes the stage. To enjoy some good snacks or listen to exciting stories at any time you just have to go to the right place, but you don't always have the opportunity to hear Yun Jin sing. Therefore, her die-hard fans are often at the Heyu Tea House, chatting about the works that her idol has performed and exchanging her experiences of enjoying the opera. The teahouse now has many more regular customers, and most of them are there because of Yun Jin. Fan Erye couldn't be more satisfied.

Character history I

The people of Liyue inherited a variety of art forms from their ancestors, and Liyue opera is one of them. Liyue opera is very old and has been passed down to this day, but the works performed by actors of this generation are no longer much like they were originally. Fortunately, today's opera retains the complex vocal music and multitude of twists and turns of the ancient Liyue opera. Nowadays, most performers join companies, and the most famous of them all is the Yun-Han Opera Company. This company has been passed down through generations of the Yun family, a lineage of musicians, and its current director, Yun Jin, is a famous figure in the Liyue opera scene. Yun Jin rose to fame when he was very young. The first time he went on stage, he conquered the audience with his clear, sweet voice and his beautiful, bright outfit. His repertoire gradually increased, and his performance style, so dynamic, versatile and realistic, matured. She plays all the roles perfectly, be it a delicate and solemn young girl or a brave and righteous heroine. But the most surprising thing is that this young actress also knows how to write scripts. Apart from "The Divine Damsel of Devastation", in recent years the Yun-Han Opera Company has premiered several works that came from the pen of Yun Jin.

Character History II

Yun Jin comes from a family of musicians in Liyue. Her mother inherited the family company from her grandfather and in the past she was a famous actress in Liyue, and her father was an opera composer. Growing up in such a family, since she was a child, Yun Jin liked to hum Liyue opera with her mother. Normally, it's very difficult to turn a childhood hobby into a professional career, but that's exactly what Yun Jin did. For the little girl, her obsession with opera was not a simple hobby, and she asked her parents to instruct her. The perseverance of her daughter pleasantly surprised them and they taught her everything they knew. In this way, Yun Jin began studying opera from a very young age. There are many things to learn about Liyue opera, and once she decides to study it, you have to dedicate a lot of time to it. Even someone as talented as Yun Jin had to put in a lot of effort and had a hard time. Ordinary children can't stand the pain of pressure on their legs and get bored memorizing rhyme books, but little Yun Jin gritted her teeth and persisted until she became a master. When she finished her studies, the veterans of the Yun-Han Opera Company, who had seen her grow up, said to each other: "A great star is going to be born in Liyue."

Character History III

There are many veteran workers at the Yun-Han Opera Company who have been there since Yun Jin's grandfather was the director. When Yun Jin inherited the management of the Yun-Han Opera Company from her grandfather, they continued to do their best to help her manage the company. Those veterans love her work, maybe even too much. For them, all other musical genres, including rock, fall short of Liyue opera. But Yun Jin does not share that opinion. She loves the energy that rock gives off, and she even became friends with rocker Xinyan. When they are rehearsing the operas, the veterans obey Yun Jin's every order, but when it comes to daily life, Yun Jin is like her little granddaughter. "Be good and listen to us, don't eat anything spicy because it is bad for your throat. You can eat meat, but not too much because you would gain weight easily." "If you're hungry, eat more shrimp. And that rock thing... all that screaming and screaming can't be good. Don't listen to it!" Every time Yun Jin returns after a rock concert, she has to endure endless scolding. There is no way to try to reason with those stubborn old men, so what Yun Jin does is look for excuses. Attending a Xinyan concert may be frowned upon, but it's okay to visit "Xingyan," Fan Erye's adopted daughter, to talk about Liyue Opera. The veterans don't like the rocker Xinyan, but they have a very good impression of this Xingyan. "I heard that Miss Xingyan knows how to embroider and cook and is a dignified and elegant young lady. Our little Yun Jin will be able to learn a lot of things from her, that's very good." Yun Jin already informed Fan Erye of this story a long time ago, so there is no danger that her fib will be discovered one day.

History of character IV

People call Yun Jin many things. Some, Principal Yun, and others, Teacher Yun. Those who call her Director Yun do so because, indeed, she is the director of the Yun-Han Opera Company. Although there are other people responsible for various matters, Yun Jin always has the final say, which is why people in the business world like to call her "Director Yun." The "Teacher Yun" thing has a story behind it. When Yun Jin's grandfather was leading the Yun-Han Opera Company, opera fans respectfully called him "Master Yun." When Yun Jin became a director, those old fans came to see her perform often. One of them, after seeing Yun Jin's superb performance, said half-jokingly to her friends as they were leaving the opera: "Today's Teacher Yun doesn't sing badly at all." Contrary opinions were immediately heard: "Can such a young girl be called a teacher?" Yun Jin heard this and, laughing, said: "Someone who is advanced in age and has seen many things must of course be called a teacher." "But not everyone who has seen many things is old, and women can also possess great wisdom." "You have great verbal skills and deserve the title of teacher. A young woman who can answer her questions also deserves it." The fans were delighted and repeated those words often. In the end, regardless of whether they had seen Yun Jin in person or not, everyone got used to calling her "Teacher Yun".

History of character V

Liyue operas almost always deal with established themes and usually tell stories of the Adeptus or Rex Lapis. "The Divine Damsel of Devastation" belongs to that category. These types of plays are the most performed because people have all kinds of fantastic ideas about the Adeptus and love their joys and sorrows on stage. When she was little, Yun Jin was also excited about them, but after interpreting the legends of the Adeptus, her opinion gradually changed. Why not try other themes? For example... our own stories. The joys and sorrows that happen in the dusty land, the love and hate that belong to people. Maybe those stories about normal people won't become the most popular, but there's no reason why they couldn't be performed on stage. Love, greed, obsession... Beautiful or disgusting emotions determine the mood and test the spirit. Yun Jin is not an Adeptus and she may not know firsthand what they think and what they feel, but she has a lot of experience with all human emotions. "So I will sing people's own story and use my pen and voice to interpret everyone's hearts." This is the wish that Yun Jin has never told anyone.

Longevity Padlock

In reality, Yun Jin's ancestors were not professionally engaged in music, but forged weapons. Later, some of them got tired of always dancing with swords and sticks and began to take an interest in opera. In Yun Jin's generation there is almost no one left who dedicates themselves to hitting the anvil. However, there are many forged items inherited from the ancestors, and the bronze lock that Yun Jin always carries is one of them. When she trained as a child, she often had to stand in the hot sun all day. Sometimes she even fainted. It hurt her parents to see her, but they understood that her basic skills must be learned very well. So, without saying anything, they took that bronze lock and put it on Yun Jin's clothes, so that it would catch good luck and grant Yun Jin health and peace. Yun Jin always carries it with him. Every time she goes on stage, she remembers those hard but happy moments and takes out the lock to clean it carefully. As she does so, her face shows a touching expression, as if she were caressing the heart of that girl who studied opera.

Vision

Shortly after his debut, and after performing dozens of large and small works, Yun Jin quickly mastered all the keys to acting. All it takes is for Yun Jin to appear for the play to receive a standing ovation from the entire audience. She had been like this for a long time, but she ended up thinking that those works were not what she really wanted to do. Every time a play begins, when the conflict reaches its peak, you have to sing very strongly, and when the situation is at a low point, you have to sing slowly and softly. Over time, the characters in all the works already have a similar face for her. With everything tuned, a beautiful costume and a well-prepared voice, there is hardly any difference between the divinity of "The Divine Damsel of Devastation" and the young woman who sells fish in "The Pearl Bracelet." Maybe the public doesn't care, but Yun Jin isn't willing to accept it. Is it possible to tell an exciting story with only good vocal skills and a beautiful figure? What got her out of this quagmire was precisely “Walking in the Snow.” It is a work with a single character who makes a very difficult journey through the snow. The first time Yun Jin sang it, small flakes fell from the sky. The protagonist gets lost in the snowy landscape and she can't help but regret when she no longer knows what to do. As in a dream, the snow and wind of the play mixed with those of reality, and Yun Jin, who had been disoriented for a long time, for a moment became that lost traveler. That was exactly what she felt. It was no longer just her, but the thousands of characters she had played. She breathes and lives like the characters in the plays, and her mood changes with each of her smiles. The intertwined lives of those thousands of characters, who create a world of feelings, form the work that she wants to represent and the story that she wants to tell.

Yun Jin no longer remembers how he left the stage after his epiphany, but he does remember that, after finally taking off his costume, a Vision hung from his sleeve.
