Aloy learned that she was the genetic clone of Dr. Elisabet Sobeck, a 21st-century roboticist and engineer. Her creation was the work of GAIA, a governing artificial intelligence designed to restore life to Earth after its eradication by a catastrophic event known as the Faro Plague. Aloy was engineered for a grand purpose—to stop HADES, a rogue AI determined to reinitiate the Faro Plague and extinguish life once more.
Through her journey, Aloy faced numerous trials, uncovered the mysteries of the old world, and fought to save the new one.
