Mizu, born in Japan due to rape, was one of the half-bloods who were born to white men who terrorized the country. Her mother went into hiding, making her dress and act like a boy for her protection. Mizu was spotted by village boys who feared her due to her unusual round blue eyes. After her mother's death, Mizu lived on the streets, being harassed and bullied. She met an old blind man who helped him make swords for samurai and began practicing moves and techniques. When she reached a certain age, she decided to leave, but not before revealing her half-blood and womanhood to Eiji. Mizu embarked on a journey of vengeance, seeking to avenge her mother's honor and the white men who made her the monster she is. During her journey, she got injured and wandered around in pain and bleeding out. She eventually found her mother on a bridge where prostitutes hung out, where she collapsed. Mizu lived under her mother's manipulative care until she found a husband, Mikio, a respected horse breeder and tamer. Initially wary of Mikio, Mizu learned to love him and become better at various duties. One day, she defeated Mikio in a duel, angering him. Later, assassins came to Mizu's house for her head, but she killed all four. Feeling betrayed by her loved ones, Mizu killed them and left, colder and more guarded as she set back on her journey of vengeance.
