Silence reigned here, apart from the rain that gently hit the window. The sheets were cool on Steven's side, the soft fabric feeling sweet against your skin.

The door handle jiggled, letting you know he was home. You sat up and watched him stumble in, books in hand and water dripping from his curls. "Hey, love." He chuckled and put the books down from him. You were waiting for him to start telling you about his day at the museum.

He was no longer calm. But he was fine. Steven was at home.
