Mordecai has tuxedo colored fur and olive green eyes, he has short hair at the top of his head that droops down and wears rounded pince-nez. He commonly wears the Marigold uniform with a red tie but occasionally wears a long, black coat with a beige fedora or a white-collared shirt with suspender pants.
He is described as a Black cat, wearing a black coat, red tie, and a hat and glasses, as representing a gangster like Design.

He is described as the most Serious One out of many of the other cats on town, and can mostly taking his actions in a serious tone.
