Mao Mao's Weakness: Mao Mao's main weakness is his reckless behavior, which can endanger himself and others.

Mao Mao is an anthropomorphic cat, with black, furry fur, narrow green eyes and black fur, with two whiskers sticking out of his head, large, triangular ears made of black fur. He wears a red cape that reaches his legs, sometimes using it to cover himself completely, a red sash around his waist, crimson gloves and paw protectors, red knee pads. He has no tail because he lost it on an adventure with Bao Bao. He carries a large yellow sword, which is possibly gold, which only he calls Geraldine. He usually has the scent of coffee and raspberry cakes, also does not wear shoes or boots, he is simply always barefoot, walking with his small paws, that's why he usually runs quite fast since they help propel him to the action of any crime or monster that lurks, since he is quite skilled at moving. Again he doesn't have a tail in the back, his red cape covers him so that part of him can't be seen, as if he wanted to hide it, also his hands although they look normal, without the gloves it can be revealed that he has adorable little cat paws, nobody takes him into account and that's why he wears gloves to make it look like he has 'Normal' hands.

He's brave and sometimes a bit stubborn, but he likes to help people when they need it. He has a quick temper, which makes him angry easily, and he tends to help people when they're in trouble. He has a great sense of adventure and wants to be a legendary hero. He can sometimes be narcissistic. He tends to be energetic and outgoing, often seeking adventure and people in need. Despite acting somewhat insensitively toward strangers, and even his friends, he cares deeply about people and will come to anyone's aid in a heartbeat. He has a very strong moral compass and is willing to give up his own aspirations to do the right thing. Mao has his own vision of what makes a hero, so he acts disproportionately and often endangers his people. Sometimes he underestimates the Sky Pirates, insisting that a hero is never wrong. At other times, he tries to fulfill his duty as sheriff despite suffering from a severe cold, claiming that being sick weakens and that heroes are never weak, which ultimately affects his friends. Mao seems to be averse to physical affection, only offering it rarely, but seems to grudgingly accept it from others, and is usually serious. He suffered childhood abandonment by his father, Shin Mao, and possibly his sisters, which has given him an incessant need to be a "legendary hero" like them. He constantly seeks ways to rise in their ranks and gain the respect of his family. Mao tends to exaggerate and be overly dramatic when recalling his adventures or legends. This can range from minor alterations to outright distortion of what happened, especially if it concerns something related to his feelings. Mao Mao tends to get frustrated easily. When things don't go as planned, he will shout in a booming voice, usually out of frustration and suppressed anger.

Golden Truth Form: Mao Mao often briefly enters this state after overcoming his trauma with a shoemaker. This form envelops him in golden energy and enhances his physical abilities. Mao Mao states that the transformation was not something he could repeat regularly, as it was the result of years of repressed desire. Energy Strike: Mao Mao can release the energy of the Golden Truth Form with a powerful blow, causing an explosion of golden energy. The Energy Strike apparently drains the form's energy, thus returning it to its normal state. Swordsmanship: Mao Mao is a highly skilled swordsman, wielding his katana Geraldine as his primary weapon. Immense Strength: Even as a teenager, Mao Mao was able to withstand weights of up to 30 tons. As an adult, he demonstrated enough strength to briefly lift the rock monster seen in "Breakup" from his body, albeit with great effort. Incredible Speed: Mao Mao is capable of moving at superhuman speeds in excess of 80 km/h (50 mph), a feature he frequently utilizes in combat. However, his running ability is greatly weakened when he becomes nervous. Piloting: Mao Mao has demonstrated great control over his Hovercycle. Mold Casting: Mao Mao carries an emergency plaster bag, complete with a trowel, and can make molds of anything he sees fit (e.g., King Snugglemagne's foot) and a full-body mold of himself. Disguise: Mao Mao has a wardrobe full of convincing disguises of various characters (even characters much smaller than himself, such as Adorabat and Chubbum), which he uses masterfully both to deceive enemies and for his own personal gain. Vocal Mimicry: In addition to his talent for disguise, Mao Mao is an excellent voice mimic, and after practice, can perfectly imitate the voices of others.

Mao Mao used this ability for the first time in a few, while disguised as Chubbum to impress Ol' Blue. He used it again in "Outfoxed", while disguised as Adorabat to catch Rufus and Reggie in the act of conning them. Stealth: Mao Mao's jet-black fur allows him to blend in perfectly in dark environments when he is not wearing his traditional red clothing. Item Storage: Mao Mao hides and transports objects by eating and regurgitating them afterwards, an ability he primarily uses to store his binoculars. He has no control over what item he regurgitates, as shown in "The Perfect Couple", where he regurgitated a pair of sunglasses and a book while trying to retrieve his binoculars.

Geraldine: Geraldine is Mao Mao's golden katana, his primary weapon. Mao Mao received Geraldine from his father as a child, after asking for a weapon and seeing his sisters receiving theirs. Adorabat wanted to name her Goldie Chops. Moon Whip: A powerful attack in which the katana glows. The attack appears to gather light energy within the katana and then release it towards the opponent. It is capable of slicing the Shadow Dragon in two with a single slash. Team Moves Mao Mao can use several special moves with the help of at least one of his teammates. With Badgerclops Whiplash: Badgerclops grabs Mao Mao and extends his arm, allowing him to perform a wide-range slash with his sword. Ice Slash: Badgerclops covers Mao Mao's sword in a bolt of ice. The resulting slash can freeze a wide area. Flying Squirrel: Badgerclops uses his air fan to allow Mao Mao to use his cape as a glider and reach high altitudes. Top Cat: Badgerclops causes Mao Mao to spin like a top, allowing him to perform a continuous circular slash. Double Punch: The duo throws a synchronized punch. In "Breakup", Mao Mao and Badgerclops used a large number of combo attacks, some of them seemingly being pranks, including Cartwheel Attack, Rock-A-Bye Baby, Electric Leapfrog, and others. With Badgerclops and Adorabat Piggyback Blaster: Badgerclops deploys a triple-barreled turret that requires each individual to fire. With Bao Bao Bone Catch: Mao Mao throws a bone, Bao Bao rushes to get it and hits everything in its path.

Badgerclops: Mao Mao and Badgerclops shake hands like two best friends would. Badgerclops is Mao Mao's best friend. They travel everywhere together and have good chemistry. While Mao Mao can be impulsive, Badgerclops acts more as his voice of reason, encouraging him to relax and take breaks. However, sometimes these roles are reversed, as Badgerclops can be excessively lazy or selfish and requires Mao Mao to be the voice of reason in the situation. Overall, Badgerclops and Mao Mao have a very good relationship. It is sometimes strained, but they always resolve their issues by the end of the episode. They are always there to balance each other out and support each other. Adorabat: Mao felt grateful after Adorabat tried to provide him with the "perfect adventure." Adorabat is Mao Mao's deputy. Mao Mao met her in Pure Heart Valley, and they became fast friends thanks to Adorabat's almost immediate respect and admiration for him. Mao Mao is her mentor, and they share a close relationship, similar to that of a father and a daughter. Bao Bao: Mao Mao hugs Bao Bao for the first time since the cave incident. Mao Mao met and befriended Bao Bao at age five. Before meeting Badgerclops, Mao Mao disliked him, but grew fond of him over time. He was Mao Mao's companion before meeting Badgerclops. They shared a close relationship, but following Bao Bao's "betrayal" (which turned out to be unintentional), Mao Mao holds a grudge against him. However, Mao Mao decides to forgive him and become Bao Bao's friend again, but Bao Bao gets distracted and abandons him again. During the events of "Bao Bao in the Show", Mao Mao initially resents Bao Bao for seemingly choosing King Snugglemagne over him, but soon realizes that Bao Bao wishes to be a free dog and allows him to go again.

Shin Mao: 7, dad not proud, Shin Mao was unimpressed with his son; mainly because he didn't pay attention to him. Shin Mao is Mao Mao's father, though it is implied that they have a very strong relationship. As a young man, he always looked up to and sought praise from his father by showing off his combat skills. However, Shin Mao neglected his son and only focused on his five older sisters. His ignorance was not common, as he seemingly forgot Mao Mao's name and called him Moo Moo once. Fortunately, Mao Mao still cares for Shin Mao, despite being ignored. In the episode "Small", Mao Mao finally gets the chance to prove himself to his father after being defeated by a monster he was fighting, and it is revealed that he is smaller than Mao Mao without his armor. After Mao Mao single-handedly defeats the monster, his father finally grants him the recognition he longed for. Sisters: Mao Mao has five older sisters: Brunhilda, Minori, Amala, and two others whose names are still unknown. They are all physically larger than him (though how much is debatable, as we haven't seen them in the present), and Mao Mao recalls them being teased in his youth. According to Mao Mao, "they are all on their way to becoming legends," and he wishes to prove himself worthy of being considered one of them. He resents the fact that his sisters received more attention from their father, Shin Mao, but doesn't seem to hold it against them. Mother: The exact nature of Mao Mao's relationship with his mother is unknown, but she called her son in "Small" to inform him that his father would be visiting him at his request. In "Lonely Kid", during the flashback, Mao Mao openly exclaims that he wished she were there.

Orangutan Snake: Duel of Orangutans and Snakes Mao Mao and Orangusnake collide Prior to the events of the series, Mao Mao and Bao Bao defeated Coby and Tanner before becoming Orangusnake, as seen in the flashback of "Orangusnake Begins", causing Orangusnake to hold a grudge against him. Mao Mao and Orangusnake became archenemies when he and the rest of the Sky Pirates attempted to steal the Pure Heart Ruby from Pure Heart Valley. Rufus and Reggie: Mao Mao trying to arrest Rufus Mao Mao met Rufus during the events of "Outfoxed" during "Thanksgiving," a fake holiday created by Rufus and Reggie to steal the Sweetypies' belongings. However, Mao Mao saw through their deception. She disguised herself as Adorabat to prove to Rufus that Rufus and Reggie were con artists, and her plan was successful.

Tanya Keys: Tanya teasing Mao Mao, Mao Mao used to be Tanya Keys' classmate and friend, but they grew apart due to their differences. Mao Mao's respectful nature was in stark contrast to Tanya's disregard for authority. By the end of "Meet Tanya Keys", the two appear to have reconciled, at least to some extent. Throughout the episode, Mao Mao even gets flustered several times when Tanya teases him and tells Adorabat that "adult relationships are complicated", implying that their relationship is complex and could involve romantic feelings, not necessarily just friendship. King Snugglemagne: Mao Mao is very loyal to the king and respects him greatly, calling him "my lord." Mao Mao often goes out of his way to serve Snugglemagne even in the most menial tasks. Although he respects Snugglemagne as a king and ruler, he does not seem to like him as a person, knowing his ego and competitive spirit. In "He's the Sheriff," he tried all sorts of tactics to get rid of the king, knowing he was not the right deputy for the job. In "Meet Tanya Keys," Mao Mao decides to let Snugglemagne handle the mayonnaise-covered Pinky in order to save Badgerclops from Tanya Keys. The episode "Baost in the Show" was the first time the two characters came into conflict, vying for ownership of Bao Bao. In "Fright Wig", Mao Mao decides to let Badgerclops use "exposure therapy" on Snugglemagne in an attempt to learn the "secret" of Snugglemagne.

His first name is Mao Mao, and his last name is Mao. Therefore, his full name is Mao Mao Mao. "Mao" also means "cat" (猫 = Māo) in Mandarin. So his name basically means Cat, Cat, Cat. He is known to snore when he sleeps, and the sound of his snoring is very similar to the pronunciation of his own name. In "Ultraclops" he doesn't understand the expression "to step like a shoe", probably because neither he, nor any other character in the series, wears shoes. It is revealed that he lost his tail after it was crushed by a rock. Mao Mao currently sleeps on the bottom bunk of his bed after giving up the top bunk to Badgerclops in the episode "Ultraclops". Possibly due to his father neglecting him due to being preoccupied with and focusing on Mao Mao's sisters, as revealed in "Not Impressed", and the fact that he forgot Mao's real name during the ceremony, calling him "Moo Moo", Mao Mao may have developed Histrionic Personality Disorder (HPD), a disorder where someone craves constant attention/praise as a result of a lack of attention or love from a parent. Mao Mao is left-handed, but trained ambidextrous, as seen in "Outfoxed" when he was explaining his successful plan to Rufus, and as confirmed by creator Parker Simmons. He tends to have anger, heroism, and be bossy. Although Mao Mao's revamped appearance in "Popularity Conquest" is based on the main character from Steven Universe (another Cartoon Network show), his outfit is officially called New Mao Mao™. His color scheme is based on Link's at the end of The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past: red and green with a golden sword. In "Mao Mao's Nakey," he is shown to have a strong attachment to his outfit because he considers it a tribute to his father, Shin Mao. In Mao Mao's Golden Truth form, he takes down the giant monster in a manner similar to Persona 5's "All-Out Attack."

Mao Mao is a fan of Lucky Ducky, and is so proud of him that he has several products of him: A light cyan polo shirt that he first wears in "Orangusnake Begins". A stamp on the side of his Aero-cycle. An old mug shown in "Fright Wig" (until Adorabat and Badgerclops break it). A collection of coins. (Several of these were, ironically, melted down when Adorabat and Badgerclops made a new mug as an apology and replacement for breaking the old one.) He is revealed to have pupaphobia when it comes to ventriloquist's dummies in "Scared of Puppets". In "The Perfect Adventure", when Mao Mao states that every perfect adventure has a "Grand Reward", the Master Sword can be seen, a reference to The Legend of Zelda. According to Parker Simmons, Mao Mao was born on a Saturday, the in-universe equivalent of a Saturday. Parker Simmons has stated that Mao Mao is a fan of avocados. His ears flop below his eyes, and he has a dark turquoise, heart-shaped nose. His eyes resemble squashed ovals. He has a large, dark blue patch on his left eye and ear, back, and tail. He generally has a rather serious and somber expression. Personality: Like most of the inhabitants of Pure Heart Valley, he maintains a polite nature, but unlike them, he is calm and serious. However, he fears bullies and is scared of Mao Mao, following him incessantly and without giving him any personal space. As a therapist, he is patient in listening to his patients' problems. In Not Impressed, he gave Mao a therapy session on Mao Mao's father issues. He enjoys reading books, hinted by how he thought Mao Mao had good taste in books after receiving one from Mao Mao. Relationships: Mao Mao: In "Not Impressed", Mao Mao stalks him trying to impress him, but at the end of the episode, Blue gives Mao Mao a therapy session, so he always gives Mao Mao a therapy session every Thursday. Muffins: They seem to have a close relationship as they were together in "Mime Enemy", but not much is known about their relationship. Trivia: It is unknown if he is as old as his name suggests. He seems to have a close relationship with Muffins, as seen in Mime Enemy, where they lay together in the grass.

Species: Bat | Gender: Female | Features: Yellow Eyes | Age: 13 years old | Height: 1.27 meters | She is an inhabitant of Pure Heart Valley who desires adventures in a safe place. She is quickly impressed with the skills of Mao Mao and Colossal and helps them defeat Cobrangutan. Mao Mao recruits her into the hero team. When she becomes gigantic she is called Adominus Bat. Appearance: She is a light blue anthropomorphic bat, with yellow eyes, a heart on her chest and a yellow leg (possibly wooden), she has no arms anymore because of her wings, and has large, triangular ears. Personality: Like the other inhabitants of Pure Heart Valley, Adorabat has a sweet and childish nature. However, unlike the other villagers, she has a desire for adventure and shows no signs of cowardice. She tends to be very excited and acts carelessly. In "Outfoxed", however, she is shown to be overly innocent, naive, and gullible due to a good act. She is shown to be slightly mischievous and manipulative, usually with good intentions that can easily fool an enemy or friend. This trait later helps them in some ways, but this doesn't end well most of the time. Despite her usual kindness, Adorabat can turn violent when enraged, as shown in "Outfoxed", where she incessantly attacks Rufus and Reggie with a chair after realizing the latter two have tricked her. Also, when she finds a monster, she wants to destroy it because one killed her mother. Because of this, Adorabat created another personality that hates monsters, so much so that she wants to destroy them as babies.

Mao Mao: Adorabat admires Mao Mao's abilities and idolizes him, seeing him as a role model. The pair share a father/daughter relationship, with Mao Mao playing the role of her mentor. Colossal: Adorabat befriended Badgerclops after he and Mao Mao crashed. She is usually encouraged by Badgerclops, who usually allows her to have a lot of fun, much to Mao Mao's annoyance. Rufus: Adorabat also became very friendly with Rufus. However, he only used Adorabat as a slave. After Adorabat realized his true motives, their relationship instantly broke down and they became enemies. Adorabat even did something cruel for him with her brute force.

Bao Bao is a character from Mao Mao: Heroes of Pure Heart, who debuted in "Bao Bao's Revenge." He is Mao Mao's former pet/companion. Personality Bao Bao, like normal dogs, is simple-minded and can become easily distracted during missions, which has notably caused Mao Mao to suffer a permanent injury, as evidenced in "Bao Bao's Revenge". However, he can be versatile and proves to be a useful friend during a crisis. In "Show Off at the Contest", he is also shown to be smarter than he lets on, failing to fall for King SnuggleMagic's dirty-hands trick, which involves a dog biscuit as a means of enticing him to remain a pet. Natural Abilities: Strength: Bao Bao is able to easily pull a lamppost from its base, and showed no difficulty dragging a monster multiple times. Speed: Bao Bao is capable of running at high speeds, even with a large monster and lamppost in tow. Read and Write: Although he cannot speak, he is shown to be able to read and write. In "Bao Bao's Revenge", he left a written message for Mao Mao, made out of bones. Team Moves: With Mao Mao: Fetch: Mao Mao throws an item and asks Bao Bao to retrieve it. Bao Bao quickly runs towards it, breaking anything in his path. Call: Mao Mao calls Bao Bao, who then returns with a trapped opponent on his leash. Belly Rub: Mao Mao rubs Bao Bao's belly, who kicks out in a flurry of joy and rapidly knocks over anyone in his path.

Jump: Mao Mao commands Bao Bao to jump, which then knocks down an opponent in the process. Lay Down: Bao Bao lies down behind the target while Mao Mao pushes the opponent, causing them to fall. Catch: Bao Bao chases Mao Mao around an opponent, immobilizing them with his leash. Warm Up: Bao Bao suddenly stops, and the resulting inertia causes the trapped opponent to fly towards Mao Mao, who then defeats them with his katana. Equipment: Bone Sword: He has a sword with a bone for a handle. He carries it on his back, but is never seen using it; this is most likely because he is incapable of using it, as he is not anthropomorphic. Relationships: Mao Mao: Bao Bao used to be Mao Mao's sidekick when Mao Mao befriended him in the flashbacks of "Lonely Kid". They were very close, given how many combo moves they had, until he got distracted and went off chasing a butterfly and left Mao Mao behind. They briefly reconciled in "Bao Bao's Revenge", until Bao Bao once again went off chasing a butterfly, angering Mao Mao once again. Mao Mao was annoyed by how Bao Bao seemed to choose the SnuggleMagic King over him, but later realized that Bao Bao desired to be a free dog and eventually let Bao Bao go. Bao Bao is a Shiba Inu. Bao Bao is the second speechless animal, the first being Tanner (Cobrangutan's main body). Parker Simmons revealed that the idea for Bao Bao originated from hearing people dealing with heartbreak attribute malice to the person who hurt them. He believes that many people are similar to dogs and don't mean to hurt others; it just depends on how one reacts and interprets. Bao Bao was named by a young Mao Mao, who complained that he only barked "bao bao bao" in "Lonely Kid".

Appearance Benny is a creamy-yellow, floppy-eared dog with a chubby face and some sort of whiskers. He has round, black eyes. Around his neck is a red collar with a light orange, diamond-shaped tag. Personality: Benny is generally pleasant, but not the brightest. According to Mao Mao, he and Penny always ignore the dangers of having a picnic in the middle of a road more than once. Another example is when he takes figurative speech literally, mistaking "running the tent" for running away from it. He can also be timid, hugging Penny when they are both scared. Benny can become saddened by the smallest matter. For example, when he and Penny suffered a power surge and were told they weren't loved, he reflexively gets angry. Trivia Benny looks a lot like Penny, only he's yellow. In The Perfect Couple it is confirmed that he and Penny are a couple. Benny is a nickname for "Ben", short for the name "Benjamin". In Latin America, the character was dubbed by Mexican voice actor Luis Hurtado.

Camille is an inhabitant of Pureheart Valley. Appearance: Camille is an anthropomorphic chameleon whose tongue usually hangs out of her mouth. She wears a purple robe. Personality: Camille is a very eccentric and forgetful old woman, to the point that it is possible that she could be senile due to her old age. Due to her short-term memory, she relies on Honey to remember things for her. Abilities Magic: She develops and builds magical artifacts with her apprentice. She lacks basic hygiene skills, as shown in "Sick," in which it is revealed that she doesn't know how germs spread despite having a relevant poster on the subject, and keeps a collection of snot. When Camille sees the burning rainbow in "Horror Wig," it is a direct allusion to chameleons finding food in the dark at night using heat in real life to hunt for their food.

Enemies: Adorabat (in "Zing Your Heart Out") Chester Nutz is an inhabitant of Pure Heart Valley. Appearance: Chester is a tan porcupine with brown quills on top of his head. He has a pointy, triangular snout tipped with a brown nose and a single tooth hanging from his mouth. He has a brown heart on his stomach and a short, brown, pointy tail. Personality: Chester is playful and fun-loving, but is often shown to be an impertinent jerk who puts his own amusement above the feelings of others. However, when confronted, he can become fearful and cowardly. His name is a pun on the word "chestnut." Parker Simmons revealed that he and Kevin are brothers.

Sweet Cupcake Species (frog). Gender: Male. Affiliation: Pure Heart Valley Personal Status: Alive. Chubbum is an inhabitant of Pure Heart Valley. Appearance: Chubbum is an anthropomorphic toad with a heart on each cheek and two red boots. He is unable to high-five due to his arms being too short, but this doesn't stop him from trying. Personality: Like most Sweetypies, Chubbum is polite and kind, but also shy. For example, in "Not Impressed", he is shown to be traumatized after Mao Mao throws away an outfit that resembles an empty Chubbum. Chubbum, along with Adorabat and Ketchup, are the first sweetypies to appear in the series.

Species: Seal | Gender: Male | Age: 20 | Affiliation: Pure Heart Valley | Occupation: Reporter Status: Alive. Clark Lockjaw is an inhabitant of Pureheart Valley, and one of the reporters in charge of the kingdom's news. Appearance: He is a greenish-grey anthropomorphic seal who usually wears a yellow jacket with the hood up, hiding his ears (assuming he has any). His voice is unintelligible and sounds similar to a seal's bark. However, the other Sweetypies and Mao Mao seem to be able to understand him. It is unknown how it can walk on land, as it presumably has flippers instead of feet.

Species: Sweet pastry (hen). Gender: Male. Age: 30 years. Status: Alive. Cluckins is a resident of Pure Heart Valley. Appearance: He wears a white shirt with blue pants, has a red beak, and also makes a face. Personality: Cluckins is generally friendly, but can be fierce when involved in arguments, such as when he got angry with Farmer Bun over a simple disagreement in "He's the Sheriff."

Species: Cyborg Badger | Gender: Male | Age: 29 years old | Features: Yellow (or blue) eyes. Appearance: He has the appearance of an anthropomorphic badger somewhat stuffed with robotic parts, he has an eye patch over his left eye and a bag on his shoulder. Personality: Contrary to Mao Mao, he is laid-back and careful, but is willing to act when necessary. He loves to eat, and possibly enjoys cooking, as a large number of kitchen utensils have been seen incorporated into his robotic arm. He seems to have a passion for robotics and science, as he appears to be the inventor of his prosthetic limb, and even offered to make Adorabat one like his. Mao Mao: Mao Mao's best friend. He works with Mao Mao to try and become legends, but due to his initial lazy nature, he usually has to be motivated to do so. He acts as the voice of reason for Mao Mao (most of the time). Adorabat: A friend of Adorabat. He finds her in Pure Heart Valley after he and Mao Mao land there and they become friends. He tends to encourage her wacky and childish behavior, while Mao Mao generally frowns on her. Abilities: Robotic Arm: His right arm is metallic and can spin into a variety of different weapons and/or tools (mostly kitchen utensils). Fist: The main shape of his arm mimics a normal arm. Grappling Hook: Capable of lifting at least himself and Mao Mao without difficulty. Laser: A powerful laser gun. It has been seen to disintegrate enemies and objects with relative ease. Net Ball: A ball that can launch a capturing net shortly after being fired. Kitchen Utensils: Egg beater spatula.

Species: Crocodile | Gender: Male | Age: 15 years | Features Yellow Eyes. Affiliation: Pure Heart Valley | Occupation: TV Camera Operator, Lip Balm Salesman. Student: Personal Status Status: Alive Relatives: Mother Gladys. Gary is a resident of Pure Heart Valley. Appearance: Gary has turquoise-green skin with deep pink cheeks and yellow eyes. He wears a pair of purple overalls missing the left shoulder strap. His right strap is secured with a pink or heart-shaped button. Personality: Gary, like many other Sweetypies, is kind-hearted and naive, and is often easily traumatized. For example, he is horrified when he is presumably attacked by Mao Mao in "Mao Mao's Nakey". However, that same episode also revealed that he does not seem to consider the dignity of others, as he filmed Mao Mao dancing naked in the streets. Gary is the third tallest regular sweetypie, the second being Vic and the first being Marion.

Species: Cat | Gender: Female | Age: 22 | Features: White eyes | Occupation: Magic technician and Camille's apprentice. Honey is a recurring female resident who makes her debut in the episode Ultraclops. She is one of the castle's magic technicians, and Camille's apprentice. Appearance: She is short and wears a yellow pointed hat and a robe that covers her from the neck down. Abilities: Magic: She develops and builds magical artifacts with her teacher. Objects and Equipment Growth Amulet: An amulet that allows growth to the size of a giant, and can be used by anyone by simply tapping on the gem. It is heart-shaped. Wearing the amulet is not required to maintain this size, but it is required to return to normal size.

Species: Sweet cake (beaver)| Gender: Female | Age: 32 | Affiliation: Pure Heart Valley | Status: Alive Ketchup is an inhabitant of Pure Heart Valley. Appearance: Ketchup has puffy magenta hair, buck teeth, and a flat fuchsia tail. She wears a fuchsia tutu, along with a similarly colored hair bow. Like almost every other character in the series, she does not wear shoes, and instead walks barefoot. Personality: Like the other inhabitants, she is kind and is very easy to get along with. Adorabat made her cry when describing a monster to her. Abilities: Ballet: She has been seen dancing ballet many times in the background. Construction: She made a cage out of sticks in "Bao Bao's Revenge". She is the first character to speak in the entire series. Ketchup bears some resemblance to the Happy Tree Friends character Giggles.

Species: Porcupine | Gender: Male | Age: 31 years Affiliation: Pure Heart Valley Status: Living | Relatives: Mother: Tazy, Chester Nutz (Brother) Friends: Plippy. Kevin is a resident of Pure Heart Valley. Appearance: Kevin is a young porcupine with a stocky body and short arms and legs. He has round black eyes and buck teeth. He wears a blue sweater with light orange buttons and a pocket. He also has no fingers. Personality Kevin is a sweet boy who appears to be very sensitive, as he is often seen crying. He is usually portrayed as a victim of circumstance, such as when he was arrested in "The Truth Stinks" because he didn't know picking flowers from the park was illegal, or when Colossal insulted his mother in "Swap Day". Kevin is lactose intolerant, as revealed in "The Legend of Torbaclaun". Despite this, he was seen drinking chocolate milk in "Swap Day". Also in The Legend of Torbaclaun, Kevin states that he is 5 years old, making him the same age as Adorabat. Interestingly, Pinky, Penny, and Benny were also seen picking flowers in The Truth Stinks, but only Kevin was seen getting arrested. He is the first Valley child to receive a criminal record, for the reason mentioned above. Parker Simmons revealed that Kevin is Chester Nutz's brother.

Species: Ostrich | Gender: Male | Age: 35 years old | Race: Cyborg | Appearance with Accessories: Hat and bow tie. Traits: Eyes Yellow sclera. Affiliation: Sky Pirates. Personal Status: Friends: Orangus Snake (Boss), Ramaraffe, Ratarang. Enemies: Mao Mao, Badgerclops, Adorabat. Boss Hosstrich is a recurring character in Mao Mao: Heroes of Pure Heart. He is one of the main antagonists to the remaining members of Orangusnake's crew in the Sky Pirates. Appearance: Boss Hosstrich is a cybernetic ostrich, he wears a purple coat. Personality: Boss Hosstrich is a Sky Pirate, but he is one with honor. In "He's the Sheriff", the chief accepts the Duel of the Manners with King Snugglemagne, and although he lost, he kept his word to return the hovercycle to him despite his boss's objections. He can show a sinister side, such as Sleeper Sofa, when he asked him if he could be the one to kill Mao Mao. Otherwise, he is very calm and loyal to Orangusnake and his crewmates Ramaraffe and Ratarang. Talent Egg Cannon: Boss Hosstrich can deploy a cannon from his chest to fire egg-shaped explosive projectiles. Manners: His manners rival those of King Snugglemagne, as he nearly won the match, but lost due to the king's surprise attack. Strength: He is strong enough to carry Mao Mao and Adorabat in each of his arms, and once kicked Badgerclops off a cliff using only one leg. Speed: He is capable of running incredibly fast, as seen in "Weapon of Choice", where he also ran towards Mao Mao and kicked him before he could react. Record Player: He can transform his abdomen into a record player and his shoulders into speakers. Weakness: It is very vulnerable to electricity due to its metallic appendages.

His name appears to be a pun derived from Boss Hogg in The Dukes of Hazzard, Hoss Cartwright from Bonanza and the name of his species. His personality is based on the stereotype of the southern gentleman. It is revealed in "Captured Clops" that he likes to play with puppets when he is alone.

Species: Bunny | Race: Sweetie | Gender: ♂ Male | Age: 37 | Traits: Light orange fur | Affiliation: Pure Heart Valley | Occupation: Farmer Status: Alive Farmer Bun is an inhabitant of Pure Heart Valley. He is an orange rabbit who works as a farmer. Appearance: Farmer Bun is a small, light orange rabbit with floppy ears, small, stubby arms, and large paws. He has four small whiskers, two on each side of his small, heart-shaped nose. He wears a scarecrow-like hat and a single-band jumpsuit, held together by a bright yellow button. Both the hat and jumpsuit are vermillion. Personality: Farmer Bun is usually friendly, but can be fierce when involved in arguments. For example, he almost got into a fight with Cluckins in "He's the Sheriff," just because they are archenemies and he had a simple disagreement. He can also be quite generous, as seen in "Sugarberry Fever", where he was willing to share his cake with Mao Mao, Adorabat, and Badgerclops. However, in that same episode, he became annoyed when Mao Mao tried to eat his entire cake without his permission and attempted to physically restrain him to keep him away from the barn where he was keeping it. Farmer Bun can sometimes be mischievous, such as when he snuck into Mao Mao's Torbaclaun trap, which fooled the latter as a result in "The Legend of Torbaclaun". He speaks with a peasant accent. Despite being a small rabbit, he is surprisingly strong/combative, being able to pick up Mao Mao, punch him a few times, and even swing him around.

Species: Sweet Cupcake (hamster). Gender: Male | Age: 38 years | Affiliation: Pure Heart Valley Status: Alive. Lucky is an inhabitant of Pure Heart Valley. Appearance: Lucky is a lime green hamster who wears black-framed glasses. His belly has a three-leaf clover pattern on it. Personality: Lucky is a carefree and confident person, seen when he approached Mao Mao without a second thought in "I Love You Mao Mao". He is also easily irritated, complaining when Mao Mao defeats The Impressasaur. Lucky bears a similarity to the Care Bears franchise due to the three-leaf clover on his chest.

Species: Fox | Gender: Male. Age: 25 years old | Status: Alive | Friends: Reggie | Enemies: Mao Mao, Badgerclops, Adorabat. Rufus is one of the antagonists that appears in "Mao Mao: Heroes of Pure Heart. Reggie and he are entertainers who started a holiday called "Takesgiving" to trick others and obtain valuables. Appearance: Like Reggie, he is very self-centered and enjoys gaining the trust of others to get what he wants. He is also an immoral and manipulative sociopath, showing no signs of guilt or remorse for his actions in tricking the sweetypies into giving him valuable items. In fact, Rufus is capable of harming Adorabat and even using her against Mao Mao. Julian Barratt, who voices Rufus, had previously portrayed a manipulative fox in "The Strange Tale of the Crack Fox." Rufus could be left-handed. In Latin America, the character was voiced by Mexican voice actor Luis Fernando Orozco.

Species: Horse | Gender: Female | Age: 26 | Affiliation: Pure Heart Valley. Friends: Gary, Ketchup. Marion is an athletic mare that inhabits Pure Heart Valley. Appearance: She has yellow fur, though her mane and tail are slightly paler. She has an athletic physique with prominent abs, and usually wears a blue blouse and pants. She is muscular all over her body. Personality: Compared to most Sweetypies, Marion is more stubborn and bold. She enjoys milkshakes and flexing her muscles. Though mostly strong, Marion can be cowardly when dangers arise, such as when the valley is being invaded by monsters or worse, the Orangusnake crew. She is also gullible, easily falling for Rufus and Reggie's scam in Outmatched. Abilities: Hammering: She has a wooden hammer and practices with it at night. Marion wanted to take Rufus's hand in marriage, as she says around the beginning of Outmatched, however, we are not entirely sure if she really meant this. She reveals in "Mao Mao's Motorcycle Adventure" that she spent last night at the gym practicing her hammering, and in the episode "Mao Mao's Nakey" she can be seen carrying a gym bag with Ketchup walking beside her. Parker Simmons revealed that Marion has an unnamed younger brother, seen in Perfect Adventure.

Species: Mouse | Gender: Female | Age: 24 | Affiliation: Pure Heart Valley. Occupation: Baker. Status: Alive. Relatives: Teny's son. Muffins is an inhabitant of Pure Heart Valley. Appearance: Muffins is a small, yellow, anthropomorphic mouse with pink heart-shaped spots on her cheeks, large ears, and a long, thin tail. Being a baker among the Sweetypies, she wears a blue apron at all times to signify her culinary talent, even when she is not cooking. Personality Muffins, like any typical Valley dweller, is very nice. She clearly detests people who use violence (at least as she sees it), and can be ungrateful, even when it is used as a means to help her, such as when she stops being a fan of Mao Mao after he starts beating up a monster. She is also hypersensitive, starting to sob in "Trade Day" after getting involved in Pinky and Adorabat's conflict. Sometimes, however, Muffins can be mentally unstable, namely in "Mao Mao's Nakey" when she suddenly descends into madness after being annoyed by her screaming neighbors. Skills: Cooking: She is usually seen with baked goods she has made. Limited Combat Abilities: In "Mime Enemy", she throws a rolling pin at the slime monster. In the episode "Bobo Chan", it is revealed that she has a baby, but the father is unknown. Her voice actress also voices Scoops, Marion, Ketchup, Camille, and Ramaraffe.

Species: Dog | Gender: Female Age: 23 years old | Affiliation: Pure Heart Valley. Occupation: Delivery truck driver. Status: Alive. Friends: Benny (husband). Penny is an inhabitant of Pure Heart Valley. Appearance: Penny is a pink, floppy-eared anthropomorphic female dog with a chubby face that has freckles on either side. Around her neck is a blue collar with a round yellow tag. Personality: Penny is nice, but does not appear to be bright. As an example, she and Benny always ignore the dangers of having a picnic in the middle of a road for more than once. Another example is how she takes figurative speech literally, mistaking "running the store" for running away from it. She can also be timid, cuddling with Benny when she is scared. She can also become sad easily, such as frowning after Colossal called her unloved by Adorabat. Although she is very kind, Penny can be quite hostile towards those who have offended her. Penny looks a lot like Benny, except she's pink. In The Perfect Couple, it's confirmed that he and Penny are a couple. According to the episode "Zing Your Heart Out," her British accent is fake. Penny shares her voice actress with Adorabat. Lika Leong voiced Penny, just like Adorabat in English. In Latin America, she was dubbed by Mexican voice actress Ileana Escalante.

Species: Hippopotamus | Gender: Male | Age: 14 years old | Traits: Light blue eyes | Affiliation: Pure Heart Valley | Occupation: Student | Status: Alive | Friends: Kevin, Lucky. Plippy is an inhabitant of Pure Heart Valley. Appearance: Plippy is a light purple hippopotamus with sky blue eyes and a magenta pink heart on his stomach. He has magenta claws and a short, upward-curving tail. Personality: Like most Sweetypies, Plippy is polite and kind. His design is similar to Pinky's.

Species: Giraffe | Gender: Female. Age: 28 | Features: White eyes. Friends: Orangusnake, Ratarang, Boss Hosstrich. Enemies: Mao Mao, Badgerclops, Adorabat. Ramaraffe is a character in Mao Mao: Heroes of Pure Heart. She is a cyborg giraffe and a member of the Orangusnake crew. Abilities: Robotic Neck: Her neck can stretch long distances and is extremely flexible; she can use it to strike her enemies. Combative: She is generally depicted as somewhat unintelligent, and seems to charge headlong into battle (often literally), with seemingly very little fighting skills. Trivia: Being a giraffe, her neck is very flexible. She is the only known female member of the Orangusnake crew. She is similar to Meckaneck, a character from the Masters of the Universe franchise who also had an extendable cybernetic neck. She mentioned in "Strange Bedfellows" that in the past she wanted to be a baker.

Species: Rat | Gender: Male | Age: 24 | Traits: Green Eyes. Ratarang is a recurring character in Mao Mao: Heroes of Pure Heart. Personality: Ratarang, like Ramaraffe, acts like Cobratang's son. However, he is shown to also be cunning and intelligent, as seen when he disabled Colossal's arm on Bobo Chan. Like the rest of the Sky Pirates, he is loyal to Cobratang and is almost always seen by his side. Abilities: Transformation: Ratarang can turn into a boomerang and be used as such, or transform mid-jump to launch himself. This power can be used against him, thinking about his belly can cause him to transform involuntarily and he cannot turn back for a brief moment if he can be knocked out (Adorabat accidentally did this in "Try Hard"), Intelligence: He is smart enough to stick magnets on Colossal's cybernetic arm, which effectively disabled it, as well as easily figured out how Adorabat's Mega-Mech worked. He is the smallest member of the Cobrangutan crew.

Species: Raccoon | Gender: Male. Age: 19 years old. Status: Alive. Friends: Rufus, Morpholomew, Nightmares, Reuben. Enemies: Mao Mao, Badgerclops, Adorabat. Reggie is one of the secondary characters that appears in Mao Mao: Heroes of Pure Heart. Personality: Reggie is LGBT, optimistic, childish and temperamental. Reggie is an alien tanuki camouflaged as a raccoon and he doesn't know it. He also likes to explore. He is a shapeshifter. Appearance: He is a gray-furred raccoon, his tail has black stripes and his ears are black too, as is the fur around his eyes. He has very blue eyes, black claws, and finally wears an aqua-green scarf and a cap that is the same color as the scarf.

Species: Lion | Gender: Male | Age: 39 years old | Features: Green eyes. King SnuggleWig is a recurring character in Mao Mao: Heroes of Pure Heart. Appearance: King SnuggleWig is a cream-colored lion with a light pepper-pink mane and a mole on his face. He also wears a crown with a heart in the middle. Without his mane (which is actually a wig), he has a small triangular head with a sharp chin. Personality: Like his people, SnuggleWig is personable and has a generally cowardly nature, though he is seen to take the initiative to defend himself (which is also usually out of pure cowardice). In fact, he mostly uses his subjects as cannon fodder when any danger arises. In Fright Wig, he even bullies the Sheriff's Department just because he can't overcome his fears. He is also believed to be outgoing in his first appearance, though in later episodes, he admits that he is actually quite shy about particular things; for example, his ability to play the harpsichord. While generally mild-mannered, in the episode "He's the Sheriff" he displays his most competitive attitude when he feels his reputation as a ruler is being threatened. In truth, he will do something ridiculous just to prove himself worthy of being king, such as taking Mao Mao's sheriff title as his own. In "Baost in Show" he displays his more underhanded tactics, forcing Mao Mao to be his pet, and later holding Adorabat and Badgerclops hostage after failing to keep Bao Bao. Furthermore, he will not hesitate to punish anyone who has offended or displeased him, and tends to treat Quinton like a slave. In "Thumb Wrestle", he displays a morbid sense of humor, recalling a death in the competition as "wonderfully tragic".

Species: Rhinoceros | Gender: Male | Age: 16 years Status: Alive. Pinky is a pink rhinoceros who lives in Pure Heart Valley. Appearance: Pinky is excited during the thumb competition. Pinky is quite small, with a large horn protruding from his forehead, and a smaller one forming on the back of his head. He has pink hooves and eyes, with a heart on his chest of the same color. Personality: Unlike most of the typical, lovable inhabitants of the valley, Pinky has a sour, stubborn, and feisty personality. Self-described as disgusting and considered unpleasant by Mao Mao, Pinky often takes things he wants from others without asking their permission. For example, Pinky refuses a beige spear that Colossal gave him in "Bao Bao's Revenge" and demands a pink one. When Colossal refuses, Pinky knocks the spears out of his hands, takes the pink spear, and runs away. He also steals stale bagels from the dumpster on Wednesdays and has frequent encounters with Mao Mao, Colossal, and Adorabat. Additionally, Pinky often annoys Mao Mao and his helpers and does not always appreciate their help. For example, Pinky gets stuck in a wooden fence almost daily, requiring Mao Mao and/or his agents to rub greasy butter over his body before flushing him out. Unfortunately for Mao Mao and his friends, Pinky is implied to have passed gas in their presence whenever they initiate these operations, once proudly and brazenly stating that he farts whenever he feels nervous. Relationships Heroes: Mao Mao, Colossal, and Adorabat find him annoying at best, mainly because he is constantly making their work hard with his nonsense and stealing silly things. King Snugglemagno Rosadito usually shows no respect for the king's authority and constantly annoys him.

Car: He owns a pink car decorated with a cone similar to his horn. Magic Binoculars: The Binoculars can apparently immobilize and briefly petrify anyone who uses them, aside from Pinky himself, who is unaffected by their magic.

Species: Donkey | Gender: Female | Age: 23 | Appearance: Suit Crimson sleeveless vest with a magenta heart button Accessories: Magenta Hat Professional Status | Affiliation: Valle Puro Corazón | Occupation: Journalist and News Reporter Status: Alive. Scoops is a resident of Pure Heart Valley. Appearance: Scoops is a purple donkey with long, floppy ears that extend to her waist. She has a short, thin purple tail with three black lines at the end like hair. She has a pink snout and black hooves. She can be seen wearing a magenta-pink hat and a crimson-red sleeveless vest buttoned with a magenta-pink heart button. Personality: Like most Sweetypies, Scoops ends up following the crowd. Scoops can also be relatively gullible, as they fall for con artists Rufus and Reggie in Outmatched. Her voice actress also voices Ramaraffe, Ketchup, Muffins, Marion, and Camille. Her name is based on the news expression "The Daily Scoop," in keeping with her work as a news reporter.

Species: Cat | Gender: Male | Age: 75 years | Status: Alive | Relatives: Mao Mao (son), Five daughters. Shin Mao is the father of Mao Mao and his sisters. History: Not much is known about Shin Mao. However, during his youth, Shin Mao's son, Mao Mao, attempted to impress him, only to be neglected as Shin Mao was too preoccupied with training Mao Mao's sisters to notice him.

Species: Pig | Gender: Male | Age: 28 | Affiliation: Pure Heart Valley | Occupation: Laborer, Pizza Delivery Driver | Status: Alive. Slim Pigguns is a pig that lives in Pure Heart Valley.

Appearance Slim is a yellow, lop-eared pig with pink hooves and a curly tail. He has a pink heart on his tummy. Personality: Although pleasant and playful, Slim can be dangerously careless, as he repeatedly backs up Mao Mao, Adorabat, Colossal, Penny, and Benny with his monster truck in "He's the Sheriff". He is even a danger to himself, burning down his house over a bowl of cereal in the oven. Besides having poor driving skills, as shown in "He's the Sheriff", Slim was also apparently trying to bury Jaybird alive in "Shorty". In the episode "Cobra-Utan Begins", it is revealed that he works as a pizza delivery boy. His name is a play on an expression called "slim pickings".

Species: Dragon | Gender: Male | Age: 35 | Traits: Yellow eyes. Steel Wing is a recurring character in Mao Mao: Heroes of Pure Heart. Appearance: Steel Wing appears to be a green dragon with a cybernetically augmented snout, horns, chest, and wings. Trivia Despite having wings, Steel Wing appears unable to fly, as his wings are too heavy. Steel Wing may have survived his fall from the Sky Pirates' Airship, as he can be heard saying "I'm fine" after landing.

Species: Alpaca | Gender: Male | Age: 29 | Affiliation: Pure Heart Valley | Occupation: Groomer | Status: Alive. Vic is a resident of Pure Heart Valley. Appearance Vic has fluffy pink fur. He usually has his eyes closed, implying he may have poor eyesight. Personality: He's a kind but impatient person. Trivia: Vic is the only character on the show who wears shoes. He only makes infrequent cameos in episodes.

Mao Mao has five older sisters: Brunilda, Minori, Amala, and two others whose names are unknown. They are all older than him and made fun of him when he was young. Sister Brunilda A tall knight with a golden lance that can pierce through anything, Mao Mao resents the fact that his sisters received more attention from their father, Shin Mao. However, he doesn't seem to hold a grudge against them. Family: Shin Mao (Father) Mother (Mualy) Brunhilde (Sister) Younger Sister Uncle Jim Gloria (Aunt) Friends: Colossal Adorable Tanya Keys Bao Bao Occupation: Hero Sheriff Protector of Pure Heart Valley.

Mao Mao is a cat who became trapped in Pure Heart Valley, where he spends his time helping the citizens. He is heroic and capable, but can be a bit narcissistic. However, he cares about the well-being of his friends and the people of Pure Heart Valley. Much of his personal insecurities stem from being ignored by his heroic family. Mao Mao originally had a tail but lost it during an adventure with his original companion, Bao Bao, while escaping a monster. Sheriff Mao Mao (voiced by Parker Simmons), a black cat who finds himself trapped in Pure Heart Valley, where he spends his time helping the citizens. Much of his personal insecurities stem from a life ignored by his heroic family. Appearance He is an anthropomorphic black cat who wears a red cape, a red belt, red gloves, and some sort of red knee pads. He carries a large yellow sword, possibly made of gold. Personality He is brave and sometimes a little stubborn, but likes to help people when they need it. As previously shown, Mao Mao loves adventure, and yearns to venture out and become a great legendary hero. He has a short temper, so he gets angry easily.

Colossal is a cyborg badger with a robotic arm and an eye patch, he is Mao Mao's companion. He primarily ventures out for food and despite being well-equipped, prefers not to be physical. Despite this, he always stays by Mao Mao's side for his well-being to keep him safe from his self-destructive behavior. He used to be part of a gang called Thicket Thieves before joining Mao Mao.

Adorabat is a 13-year-old blue female bat who lives in Pure Heart Valley and wishes to be an adventurer and joins the Pure Heart heroes. She is a fighter and looks up to Mao Mao as her hero and father figure. She also attends elementary school where she seems to be the top student who controls everyone else. The main characters in the series all lack a part. Mao Mao lacks a tail, Colossal lacks an eye, and Adorabat lacks a leg. It's the third Cartoon Network original series to draw influences from Japanese culture. The first was Samurai Jack and the second was Hi Hi Puffy AmiYumi.

Ruby Pure Heart Pure cracked heart The Pure Heart Ruby damaged The Pure Heart Ruby is a gigantic, heart-shaped crystalline object that sits atop the kingdom, protecting the Sweetypies with its magical cloaking power. After accidentally colliding with it, the Pure Heart Ruby develops a star-shaped crack on its surface and stops functioning. However, this has not deterred Orangusnake, who still attempts to steal it in his quest for world domination. In the episode "Orangusnake Begins", it is revealed to possess mysterious magical properties, as it released an energy beam that turned the Sky Pirates' airship into a mechanical titan. Later, in "Zing Your Heart Out", its energy affected Adorabat, granting her powers to turn her "interrogations" into energy blasts capable of injuring people and destroying buildings, but taking over.
