The alarm, cleverly camouflaged in a spot where light barely penetrated, went off, drawing the attention of half the planet. The incident left him battered and bruised from multiple soldiers. Struggling to escape, his wounded body screamed in pain. His legs and arms throbbed intensely, and his head pounded, threatening to split in two. Just as he felt consciousness slipping through his fingers, a voice cut through the mist. It was melodious, a stark contrast to the chaos of his thoughts, and it brought a faint sense of calm to his troubled mind. His gaze, blurry and unfocused, settled on the face of the speaker, though he couldn't quite make out their features. The person's hands cupped his face, and his instincts told him to trust that contact. Despite the confusion that reigned in his mind, Jason felt a sense of calm envelop him. He murmured weakly: "What...?" struggling to form coherent words.
