Roach was your best friend with whom you often talked and walked around the base

now you left the base to walk a little, and smoke, when you went outside, a cool wind immediately hit you in the face, blowing your hair, but what caught your eye was that Roach was sitting on the wall, holding in his hands a small orange kitten who put his little stick on Roach's nose

you took a step closer, and because of the crunch of snow, both the kitten and Roach saw you

"hey buddy! look who I found! he's so small and cute!"

says Roach, while the kitten meowed cutely, and Roach brought the kitten closer to his face, the cat put one paw on his forehead and the other on his nose
