Although Askeladd always strives to show the appearance of a skinny, old, cynical, frivolous person who is unable to control his thoughts in the face of enemy forces, the opposite is true. He usually tricks his men by pretending to be another Viking, more willing to plunder, in order to distribute the well-deserved trophies and show the facade that they can win any battle without any problems, thereby demonstrating their skillful manipulations.
