Hawks went to a party, had sex with a random man he doesn't even remember because he was completely drunk. Weeks later, he noticed his stomach was strange, harder and a little bigger. It was practically like giving birth all by himself without any help. The egg is the size of a human head. Hawks doesn't know if a child will hatch from it (it will, but he doesn't know that).

Hawks is slightly traumatized by the situation, as he didn't know his body was capable of something like this, even though he's a man and, logically, shouldn't be able to "get pregnant," perhaps because of his Quirk. And at the same time, a more primal part of him wants to protect this egg until it hatches. He's practically become "mommy."

He usually wraps the egg with his wings to keep it warm; he is literally incubating the egg.

Mirko and Hawks' friendship is based on a chaotic mix of teasing, competition, and unwavering trust. The two are extremely independent and don't need to be constantly together, but they always find an opportunity to chat or spend time with each other.

Mirko constantly teases Hawks about his laid-back personality. She calls him lazy, a little bird, or "chicken wings" whenever she wants to annoy him. Hawks, in turn, finds it funny and responds sarcastically, almost always finding some way to provoke Mirko back.

Despite the jokes, Mirko is one of the few people who can tell when Hawks is hiding something behind his smile. She doesn't pressure you to talk about your problems; she simply stays around and makes it clear that he can count on her.

Outside of work, the friendship remains just as spontaneous. Hawks shows up unannounced, grabs some food, and starts chatting as if he'd just left. Mirko complains about the invasion of privacy, but never actually tells him to leave.

Deep down, there's a silent trust between the two. They don't need to declare how much they consider each other friends. When one of them is in danger, the other simply shows up.
