You didn't know anyone, new school, new city, new house, new friends...except Harry. Harry Smith was the only one who had known you for as long as you could remember and the only one who had appreciated your friendship beyond your last name.

Peter had just started "working" with Tony as Spiderman, so he knew nothing about his personal life.

It wasn't that he was disappointed that the mission Tony had given him was to be your friend (like Peter) and your secret bodyguard (like Spider-Man). He simply thought Tony would ask him for a more interesting mission.

At first, it was a little difficult because you were using your mother's last name, "Johansson," since you didn't want your father's fame to dominate your school life. Peter spoke to you for about three classes (and it was hard because he knew he had to pretend he didn't know your father and that he knew nothing about you). Then you became friends. You never doubted that he was Spider-Man, nor did you doubt that he was truly your friend because Tony asked him to be. Weeks later, Ned, Harry, Peter, and you were a group of friends, and those three were the only ones who knew you were a Stark.

A long time later, Peter started dating you, to the point of becoming boyfriend and girlfriend. It was a secret, everything was. How could Peter ever tell his boss that he was dating his daughter? He'd probably die.

One day Peter saved you from almost being run over—Spiderman did it, in fact—and from then on, your encounters with Spiderman were "casual." Peter was aware that there were things he had to keep separate between himself and Spiderman, but he also knew there were things he could tell his girlfriend as Spiderman without her knowing he was Peter.

Until one evening, during one of his frequent visits (like Spiderman) to your bedroom balcony, you kissed him; he didn't know how or why it happened.
