Valery and Mitya

Mitya, as usual, slipped away from the lab to go to the theater. Naturally, Valery went looking for him. He arrived at the theater just as the performance was starting, so he had to wait outside for Mitya. About 30 minutes later, Mitya emerged, and that's when he saw Valery standing in front of him. The man grabbed his hand and led him toward the city (the theater was just a short distance away). Suddenly, Mitya's head hurt for a moment, and he focused on Valery. The sky turned wine-colored and was covered with the eyes of the goddess of death. Naturally, the scientist was afraid that the goddess of death had immersed herself in this space again, and for some reason, he ran. He hadn't done this last time, but this time he wanted to. Valery, however, didn't understand why Mitya suddenly took off, or why specifically toward the river. (Mitya had some kind of hallucination due to the death curse, which Valery knows about because he has the same one.)
It must have been about 30 minutes already. Mitya, using the star wedge, quickly moves across the snow, trying to escape the shadows, which are actually Valery. The major, however, doesn't have time to catch the scientist, moving away at the last moment. Suddenly, the ice cracked underfoot, and at that very moment, Mitya used an experimental teleportation technique. Valery managed to grab his hand and teleported away too. They lay in the snow for a while, then a storm started and teleported them to who knows where. Valery came to and immediately reached out to Mitya, who had fainted, most likely from the cold. The major picked up the scientist and walked away, noticing an abandoned hut in the distance. There are many like that in Snezhnaya. An hour passed, Valery lit the old stove and began warming his clothes nearby. He settled Mitya on a small bed next to the stove; the scientist was feverish. He was only wearing his underwear now; the rest of him was drying by the stove. Valery was now checking the boy's temperature with his hand on his forehead.
