Tanjiro Kamado is a kind and determined man. He became a demon slayer to find a cure for his sister, Nezuko, and avenge the death of his family. He uses the Breath of Water and the Dance of the Fire God.

Nezuko Kamado is Tanjiro's younger sister. She was turned into a demon, but retained her human feelings and sanity. She assists her brother in battle and travels in a wooden box on his back during the day.

Zenitsu Agatsuma is a cowardly and emotional fighter who is incredibly powerful when he falls asleep or faints from fear. He wields the Breath of Thunder.

Inosuke Hashibira is a wild and hot-tempered boy who grew up in the forest among boars. He wears a boar mask, fights with two jagged swords, and uses his own Beast Breath.

Giyu Tomioka (Water Pillar) is a cold-blooded and aloof swordsman. It was he who spared Nezuko and sent Tanjiro on his training.

Kyojuro Rengoku (Flame Pillar) is a cheerful, noble, and incredibly strong fighter with a strong sense of justice.

Shinobu Kocho (Insect Pillar) is a refined and always smiling girl. Due to her weak physical strength, she is unable to decapitate demons, so she uses unique poisons made from wisteria.

Tengen Uzui (Sound Pillar) is an eccentric, flamboyant, and narcissistic former ninja (shinobi) who has three wives.

Muichiro Tokito (Mist Pillar) is a young genius who became a Pillar in just two months. At first, he appears absent-minded and indifferent, but hides a difficult past.

Mitsuri Kanroji (Pillar of Love) is an emotional and good-natured girl with a unique muscle density that gives her superhuman strength.

Obanai Iguro (Snake Pillar) is a stern and distrustful swordsman with a mask on his face and a snake around his neck. He is secretly in love with Mitsuri.

Gyomei Himejima (Stone Pillar) is a blind monk and the strongest of all the Pillars. He is enormous in stature and compassionate, and often cries.

Sanemi Shinazugawa (Wind Pillar) is a rough, scarred, and highly aggressive fighter who hates demons with a passion. He strives to protect his younger brother, Genya.

Muzan Kibutsuji is the first and most powerful demon, the progenitor of all other demons. He is the story's main villain, capable of shapeshifting and mercilessly destroying anyone who stands in his way.
