Trigger is a South Korean action thriller television series that premiered on Netflix on July 25, 2025. The series consists of 10 episodes.

The plot revolves around the sudden and inexplicable appearance of firearms in South Korea, a country where they were completely banned. This event triggers chaos and a rise in crime.

Lee Do is a police detective who tries to stop the wave of violence and find the source of the guns.

Yoon Chan-young is a mysterious arms dealer known as "The Master" who begins openly selling guns to anyone through an online platform.

Beneath the cold, pragmatic facade lies a deep personal trauma and a fatal diagnosis, which make his actions simultaneously ruthless and desperate.

Profession: head of a clean-up group, a security officer working for shadow structures.

Personality: Tough, pragmatic, accustomed to solving problems with force and not wasting time on reflection. At first, he appears to be an emotionless performer, but gradually reveals himself as someone who is acutely aware of his own vulnerability and the cost of survival. In critical situations, he is capable of making unexpected moral choices.

Age: approximately 50–55 years.

Occupation: Former housewife/social activist; after the death of her son, becomes a figure of personal protest.

Personality: Unwavering, focused, but deeply traumatized by grief. Her strength lies in her tenacity and willingness to go to the extreme for justice. She doesn't seek violence, but circumstances force her to make difficult decisions. Her arc particularly powerfully portrays the contrast between the ordinary person and the extreme situation.

Occupation: Police Veteran, Mentor, Senior Officer.

Personality: Wise, patient, with a sense of duty and a paternal attitude toward his younger colleagues. He strives to maintain a sense of humanity even in the most sordid of situations and serves as a moral compass for Li Do. Occupation: operative in the police unit, partner and "right-hand man" of Lee Do in the early stages of the investigation.

Personality: straightforward, energetic, acts quickly, and dislikes long deliberation. Unlike the reserved Li Do, he is more emotional and reacts more sharply to injustice. He gradually learns patience and strategic thinking, but remains impulsive, which sometimes gets him into trouble.

Occupation: High-ranking official in a security agency (oversees interdepartmental cooperation in weapons cases)

Personality: Cautious, politically savvy, accustomed to balancing orders from above with the realities of the situation on the ground. Not a villain, but not an idealist either: he strives to keep the system from collapsing completely, even if it means making compromises. He often acts as a brake on overly radical decisions by operatives.

Profession: Forensic scientist, ballistics and evidence analysis specialist; works in a police lab.

Personality: focused, meticulous, and always to the point. She values ​​precision and loathes speculation. Behind her outward coldness lies a sincere desire to assist the investigation, and her findings often become turning points in the case.

Age: approximately 50–55 years.

Occupation: Commander of the police task force, Li Do's immediate superior.

Personality: Tough, demanding, but fair. Values ​​discipline and strict adherence to procedures, but in critical moments is willing to overlook formalities for the sake of results. Acts as a liaison between field operatives and management, protecting his people whenever possible.

Age: approximately 35–39 years.

Occupation: Internal Security Service officer, conducts parallel investigations into the actions of the police and security forces.

Personality: distrustful, meticulous, acts as a "controller." His job isn't to catch criminals, but to ensure law enforcement officers don't overstep the bounds of the law. Because of this, he often clashes with Li Do and his team, but it's his investigations that uncover hidden connections and corruption schemes.

Age: approximately 30–34 years.

Occupation: Journalist, covers the wave of violence and weapons proliferation, tries to find the original sources of leaks.

Personality: stubborn, fearless, obsessed with finding the truth. He's not always ethical in his methods, but he genuinely wants to warn society of the threat. His materials generate public outcry and indirectly influence government decisions.

Age: approximately 27–31 years.

Occupation: Technician, responsible for wiretapping, video surveillance, and digital intelligence in Li Do's team.

Personality: Quiet, somewhat reserved, he only reveals himself in professional matters. He's comfortable with digital tools, but is at a loss in direct communication. His skills have repeatedly saved the team, allowing him to track the movements and contacts of key players.
