At the beginning of the game, you must choose a side: Pirates or Marines. Each has its own characteristics and bonuses. Pirates can form teams and accumulate Bounties. Marines earn Honor for killing pirates, and players of the same faction do not attack each other. You can change factions, but doing so will result in the death of your character.
Quests. These are the main source of experience, money, and progress. Almost the entire gameplay cycle is structured like this: take on a quest → defeat enemies → receive a reward → become stronger.
