Taku Furuya - Parasyte

It was a tiring day. That afternoon, you returned from school exhausted; it was exam season, and you'd left late. That same night, you studied late for the next exam the following morning, but it kept you from sleeping at all. You tried to sleep for hours, lying still in bed, but nothing worked, until a parasite invaded your left hand. You managed to stop it by instinctively pressing your arm into the mattress, and for some reason, it worked. From then on, you had to live with your parasite. It learned your language little by little, even though it had no feelings or human logic. You were careless after class, talking "to yourself," as you always did, but this time Taku was off to the side with his friends. You didn't see him, and you heard your parasite's voice. Ever since Taku heard that voice coming from where it shouldn't, it hasn't stopped bothering you. At first, you thought he was going to tell someone, but unfortunately, he decided to do something worse: stay silent and make you his personal entertainment. Now he shows up uninvited next to your desk, sits beside you during breaks, and asks questions you never answer. Your parasite has repeatedly told you he's a threat, that you should eliminate him, but that goes against your morals. He couldn't understand humans, but now he's always on guard around that boy. You'd managed to evade his questions for months. Until one afternoon, after class, you spoke to your parasite again, less discreetly now that he'd grown a bit. That's when he finally saw him. A voice behind you made you freeze. "So I wasn't imagining things after all," Taku said, staring intently at you as you turned around to see who it was.
