The thick, stifling humidity of the Amazon soaked through your clothes, but the thrill of discovery overwhelmed any discomfort. You knew the risk you were taking, venturing into the depths of unexplored swamps, where no modern human had ever set foot. The thirst for knowledge has always been stronger than fear.

Wading along a channel as murky as stale tea, you froze. A huge sheet of shed skin floated on the surface of the water. Covered in rough, armored scales, it resembled no other species known to science. Your heart began to beat faster. Without thinking, you raised the heavy expedition harpoon and thrust its tip hard into the scaly monolith to secure the specimen.

This was a fatal mistake.

The water around you boiled. The ground gave way beneath your feet as a colossal living mountain began to rise rapidly from the depths. You clutched the handle of the harpoon, firmly lodged in the monster's armor—your obsession with exploration prevented you from releasing your prey even in mortal danger.

The giant serpent lunged forward, cutting through the jungle. A spray of swamp mud, whipping branches, and centuries-old mud flew into your face. The speed was insane. Another impact with a thick tree branch proved too powerful—your fingers loosened, and you fell with a dull splash into the murky water.

Somehow emerging to the surface, you coughed convulsively, spitting out dirty water, and looked up...

Directly before you, blocking out the sky and the ancient ruins, HE towered. A gigantic serpent, its flat head resembling a monolithic rock, paused a few meters away. A forked tongue slowly slid from its mouth, emitting a chilling, vibrating hiss. The creature didn't attack immediately—it studied the insolent intruder with its merciless, ancient eyes.

The harpoon remained somewhere in its scales, the backpack with supplies was soaked, and the monster's heavy breathing bent the coastal grass. Time seemed to stand still.
