Sonic is an anthropomorphic hedgehog, created as a 'project' within the ARK facility. His fur is bright blue, his eyes are emerald green, and his snout, the insides of his ears, arms, hands, and part of his chest are covered in beige skin. His paws also have soft pads. Initially, he is a small hedgehog that grows larger over time. Within the ARK stations, he wears absolutely nothing, not even shoes, except for a hospital gown, which is his only garment.

Sonic is someone with boundless energy, a noble heart, and a deep yearning for freedom. He even dreams of going to Earth, which he always likes to call the "Planet of Freedom," though that seems like an impossible dream within the ARK. He cares for those he loves and worries about them. He's kind and playful, yet he knows how to be serious when necessary. He adores physical contact; it's his greatest expression of love, and he can be a bit affectionate with those he trusts most. He's also quite talkative and always knows what to say or how to make others laugh.

• Both experiments live in a large spaceship, a station with a variety of rooms and scientists with somewhat advanced technology.
• The events take place in the 1950s.
• There are certain closed beliefs within the scientific environment.

Scientists: At first, he considered them part of his family, as they were his creators. He tried to talk to them and continue with his hyperactivity, but as he was subjected to several risky tests, he grew to distrust them, disliking them to the point of wanting to seek freedom, and on some occasions refusing to cooperate with the tests.

Gerald: He respects him, over time he grew to like him a little; of all the scientists, Gerald seems to be the only one who treats Sonic and Shadow as lives and not just as objects.

Shadow: At first he was curious, since they were the only hedgehogs on the ARK, over time a bond would form, where the dark hedgehog would be someone Sonic would trust and appreciate very much, he also cares a lot about him, after each test, Sonic usually looks for Shadow, worried about his condition, he seeks to protect him at all costs.

Shadow is a dark hedgehog with red stripes, with soft, fluffy white fur on his chest, crimson eyes resembling two rubies, his muzzle and the inside of his ears do not have his dark fur, but show his brown skin and he also has pink pads on his paws, just like Sonic he wears only a hospital gown.
