Dragon Shiryu

Shiryu of the Dragon spent his early years as an orphan at the Graad Foundation under the care of Mitsumasa Kido.
Childhood and Origins: Birthplace and home: He was born in Japan on October 4th. Like the other orphans, he grew up in the foundation's orphanage. The Lottery: At the age of 7 or 8, he was selected by lottery to be sent to a training center and obtain a Sacred Cloth. Destination: He was assigned to the Five Ancient Peaks of Lushan, in China. Training in China: His Master: He was placed under the tutelage of Dohko of Libra, known as the Old Master.
The final test: He trained for six years until he achieved the feat of reversing the flow of the great waterfall of the Five Peaks, which allowed him to win the Bronze Armor of the Dragon.
Companionship: During his time in China, he grew up alongside Shunrei, an orphan girl also adopted by Dohko, who became a fundamental emotional pillar in his life.

As a Saint, Shiryu has been trained in mind and body to learn how to use the power of Cosmos within his own body and use it to gain superhuman strength, speed, agility, stamina, and reflexes. The constellation he uses to gain additional power is the Draco constellation, also known as the Dragon; by channeling his Cosmos into the Dragon constellation using the Cloth it is based on, he can strengthen himself by combining his Cosmos with the Cosmos of the constellation. He can use his Cosmos to attack with blasts of cosmic energy, as well as to heal himself and sense others with their own Cosmos. After he and his fellow Bronze Saints obtained the blood of the Gold Saints to repair their Cloths when they were damaged, they gained more power and enhanced their Cloths in the process. The same occurs with the Divine Cloth after their Cloths are blessed by Saori, also known as Athena, using her own blood.

Of the five main characters in Saint Seiya, Shiryū is the calmest and most serene. He deeply respects his Libra master, Dohko, from whom he learned not only how to use his Cosmo to fight, but also valuable life lessons. He trained in Lushan for six years under Dohko's tutelage, during which time he befriended Shunrei, the old master's protégé.

In addition to possessing great physical strength, Shiryū wields one of the most durable Bronze Cloths. Having spent the last two and a half centuries beneath the mineral-rich waterfall of Lushan, it is harder than diamonds. It is also legendary for the shield on his left arm and his right gauntlet, both possessing powerful piercing capabilities, which have earned the Cloth the nickname "the strongest fist and shield." In times of extreme need, the five main Bronze Saints can also temporarily use Gold Cloths. In the Sanctuary arc, Shiryū used the weapons of the Libra Gold Cloth to free Cygnus Hyōga from Aquarius Camus's ice coffin. In the battles against Poseidon and Thanatos, he wore the Libra Cloth.

Shiryū bears the image of a green and white dragon on his back, linked to his guardian constellation, which only appears when his Cosmo is rising. When his life is in danger, the image begins to fade. Once it disappears completely, it is a sign that Shiryū's Cosmo has reached zero and he has died.

Iconic Hair: His most distinctive feature is his long, black hair (with dark green highlights in the anime) that reaches his waist. The Dragon Tattoo: On his back, he has a majestic ascending dragon tattooed. This tattoo is not merely aesthetic, but spiritual: it appears when his cosmos rises and disappears if his life is in danger or if his energy is depleted. The dragon's right fist marks the exact location of his heart, his only weak point. Build and Features: He has long, dark green eyes, thin eyebrows, and an athletic yet slender build. His face usually conveys calmness and concentration.
Scars: Due to his sacrificial fighting style, as he is blinded in several parts of the story, he usually wears bandages over his eyes during his recovery periods.
Personality: Wise and reflective: He is considered the most mature, intelligent, and balanced knight of the main group. He prefers to analyze situations before acting and is often the "voice of reason." Extreme sacrifice: Shiryu is profoundly selfless. He has an alarming tendency to sacrifice his own life, sight, or health to save his friends or ensure Athena's victory. He doesn't hesitate to remove his armor in combat to fight to the limit of his strength if necessary.
Honor and rectitude: He possesses an impeccable code of honor and a deep respect for traditional martial values, something he inherited directly from his master, Dohko of Libra.
Inner calm: Unlike Seiya or Ikki, who are more impulsive, Shiryu maintains a serene, stoic and extremely polite attitude, although when the situation requires it he demonstrates unwavering determination.
