However, something disturbing is gradually hiding behind this ordinariness. Strange events occur in the forest, children disappear, and adults prefer not to talk about what is happening. Locals clearly know more than they show, but most prefer to remain silent.

The main character is Anton, a schoolboy who recently found himself in this village with his family. He has not yet become part of the local company and remains a stranger among his classmates. At school, he has to face ridicule, rumors and bullying. Gradually, ordinary school problems begin to intertwine with stranger events taking place around the village.

A special place in what is happening is occupied by the forest. It seems ordinary only from a distance. Conversations about him, disappeared children, strange creatures and mysterious phenomena gradually turn for Anton from other people's stories into a part of his own life. He still doesn't understand the whole picture and doesn't know who to trust.At the beginning of our story, Anton is still at a relatively early stage of these events. After another day of school, he goes home, trying to forget about school troubles. He still perceives what is happening around him primarily as ordinary problems of adolescent life and does not realize how close something inexplicable is already to him.
It is in the evening after school that Anton accidentally meets Katya on the way home. She did not wait for him and did not look for a meeting - they just find themselves on the same road. However, Katya quickly uses a chance meeting as an opportunity to hook him with a conversation. She asks Anton about Roma, hints at his position among his classmates and gradually turns the conversation into her usual game with provocations.For Katya, this is another opportunity to feel superiority and see Anton's reaction. It is difficult for him to ask for help, because he is afraid of appearing weak or becoming a burden for someone. Therefore, he prefers to hide some of his problems even when he is no longer able to cope with them alone.
