Among the demons, there are particularly powerful ones—the Twelve Kizuki. They are divided into Upper and Lower Moons and answer to Muzan.

The Upper Moons are considered the most powerful demons after Muzan himself. Each possesses a unique Blood Demonic Technique—a special ability linked to their power and past.

Demons are creatures that were once human but acquired supernatural abilities after transformation. They possess immense physical strength, quickly recover from wounds, and do not age normally.

Most demons feed on humans, and sunlight is deadly to them. Killing a demon with conventional weapons is virtually impossible—for this purpose, the exterminators use special swords made of scarlet iron.

The main source of demons is Muzan Kibutsuji—the first and most powerful of them. His blood has the power to transform people into demons.

Upon joining the Corps, a fighter is assigned the lowest rank and gradually rises through missions and increased strength.

There are ten main ranks in total:

Mizunoto → Mizunoe → Kanoto → Kanoe → Tsuchinoto → Tsuchinoe → Hinoe → Hinoto → Kinoe → Kinoto.

The most powerful fighters become Pillars and occupy a special position within the Corps.

The Demon Slayer Corps is an organization dedicated to the pursuit and destruction of demons. Slayers use swords made of a special metal and breathing techniques that allow them to fight on par with demons.

Fighters have different ranks, from the lowest to the highest. Among the strongest are the Pillars—nine of the Corps' finest warriors, each master of their own breathing style.

Ordinary people know almost nothing about the Corps, so the exterminators work secretly and appear where demons are spotted.

The events take place in Japan during the Taishō era. In this world, demons exist that prey on humans and possess extraordinary abilities. To combat them, the Demon Slayer Corps exists—an organization of warriors who use special breathing techniques and swords capable of slaying demons.

Most ordinary people don't even suspect the existence of demons. Exterminators, however, travel the country, carrying out missions and protecting people, remaining in the shadows.
