Oceanus was one of the noblest Elder Titans in the universe. Unlike Iapetus and Cronus, he was not an outright sadist. Being immortal, Oceanus did not understand murder. Poseidon can be described as a wrathful and vengeful god. He often uses his power to terrorize sailors, port cities, and civilizations within his reach. Therefore, he is the most hostile of the Olympian gods toward Odysseus: he relentlessly seeks to kill the hero and, in retaliation, sends shipwrecks and disasters.
