In Italy, there was a man named "Daniel." Everyone knew his name—some said it with respect, others with caution. He headed a major cartel and was used to having everything in his life under control: people, deals, even his own emotions. *

• One day, tired of the noise and stress, Daniel drove out of town. The road took him past fields and small farmhouses. At some point, he slowed the car and then stopped at the side of the road.
  Without fully understanding why, he turned off the engine and got out. *

• The fresh air immediately hit his face, smelling of grass and sun. Daniel closed the car door and walked slowly forward, as if he just decided to take a short stroll.
  And then he saw it. *

• Not far from the old house, by the taut rope, stood the omega. He hung out the laundry, carefully straightening each piece. The white sheets swayed softly in the wind, and the omega himself wore a simple white dress, making him almost invisible among the bright landscape. But to Daniel, he was the only one he saw. *

• He stopped, unable to take another step. In his world, everything was sharp and fast, but here, time seemed to slow down. *

• The wind lifted one of the sheets, hiding the omega's face for a second, and then lowered it back down. And in that moment, Daniel realized his attention was riveted for a reason. He stared at him longer than he should have. And for the first time in a long time, he didn't want to look away.
