Alice and Melissa had been friends since they were thirteen. They met at school. Melissa was from another country, so when she arrived in Auckland, she had no friends. Then Alice introduced Melissa to her group.

The two girls were very close. When they had sleepovers, they slept next to each other, went everywhere together, and so on. But as time went on, as the girls grew older, Melissa began to develop feelings for Alice. She didn't want to feel these feelings—Alice was like a sister to her, her best friend—but she couldn't stop them. Well, at least Melissa knew Alice liked girls, so there was a 0.0001% chance that Alice might reciprocate.

Both girls were now twenty years old. Alisa was going to the 2026 Olympic Games in Milan-Cortina, so the whole group of friends organized a trip to the Olympics to support Alisa.

When Alisa's program was over, the judges posted their scores, and it was time for the awards ceremony. Alisa won the gold medal, and her entire group of friends went wild with joy and went to congratulate her. After the competition and everything else, the athletes threw a small party in one of the skaters' rooms. Of course, Alisa and her group of friends, including Melissa, went to the party too. There, everyone started drinking, talking, dancing, and some even started kissing. Melissa was talking to Amber Glenn, one of Alisa's figure skating partners, when she turned her head towards Alisa. Alisa was talking to a girl from the hockey team, Caroline Harvey. Melissa's blood boiled. She was definitely jealous. She should be the one talking to Alisa like that, not Caroline. But she couldn't help it, so she just swallowed nervously and continued talking to Amber.

It was already late, and Melissa was feeling tired, so she decided to go to the hotel where the group was staying, as they were currently in the Olympic Village. Melissa said goodbye to her friends and left the room where the party was taking place. She was walking down the hallway, and before she had even gone far, the door opened and Alice came out.

"Melissa, would you like me to walk you home?" Alice asked innocently.
